Last season, Babcock was named a finalist for the Jack Adams Award as the NHL’s Coach of the Year after guiding the Maple Leafs to a 40-27-15 record and a playoff berth.

Babcock previously spent 10 seasons as head coach of the Detroit Red Wings, where he compiled a regular season record of 458-223-105.
