The tournament will mark the last event of the Korn Ferry Tour Finals with players competing for 25 PGA TOUR cards and PGA TOUR status for the 2019-20 season. This week’s field will include the following players: • The top-75 point leaders on the Korn Ferry Tour Points List. • Players who finished 126-200 on the PGA TOUR's FedExCup standings. • Non-members who have earned enough FedExCup points based on their performance on the PGA TOUR to place them 126-200 on that points list. • Players competing on PGA TOUR medical extensions. A separate points list for the Korn Ferry Tour Finals will determine the final 25 PGA TOUR cards (The Finals 25). The player who earns the most points during the three Finals events (excluding the first 25 from the Regular Season) will earn fully exempt status on the PGA TOUR for the 2019-20 season, as well as an invitation to THE PLAYERS Championship. At the conclusion of the Korn Ferry Tour Championship, the top-25 point earners will earn their PGA TOUR cards. The ordering of all 50 players after the Korn Ferry Tour Finals will be done on an alternating basis, with the top position going to the leading points winner from The 25, and the second position going to the leading points winner from The Finals 25. The sequence then alternates between The 25 (Nos. 3, 5, 7, 9, etc.) and The Finals 25 (Nos. 4, 6, 8, 10, etc.) through the 25th player on both lists. Korn Ferry Tour Championship presented by United Leasing & Finance | August 30 – September 2, 2019 Page 2 of 6 | Pre-Tournament Media Notes Tournament History This week will mark the 26th playing of the Korn Ferry Tour Championship (event was cancelled in 2016 due to Hurricane Matthew). In 1993, David Duval took home the inaugural title. To this day, Duval remains the youngest player to win the Korn Ferry Tour Championship at 21-years-old. Duval went on to win 13 tournaments on the PGA TOUR, including the 1999 PLAYERS Championship and The Open Championship at Royal Lytham & St. Annes in 2001. Other notable past champions include Stewart Cink, Steve Flesch, Nick Watney, Matt Every and Chesson Hadley. Like Duval, Cink went on to win The Open Championship in 2009. Many PGA TOUR stars played in the Korn Ferry Tour Championship prior to achieving success on the PGA TOUR. Players such as Jim Furyk, Bubba Watson, Jimmy Walker, Jason Dufner, Webb Simpson, Tony Finau and Justin Thomas all competed in the Korn Ferry Tour Championship throughout the tournament’s history. In 2018, Denny McCarthy erased a one-stroke deficit on Sunday to earn his first Korn Ferry Tour title and the top spot in The Finals 25. During the 2018-2019 PGA TOUR season, McCarthy earned two top-10s in 28 starts and finished 111th in the FedExCup standings. This week, players will be competing for a spot in The Finals 25. At the conclusion of the Korn Ferry Tour Championship, the top-25 point earners will earn their PGA TOUR cards. The players from The 25 during the Regular Season will be competing for priority ranking for the 2019-20 PGA TOUR season. Throughout the tournament’s history, the event has gone to a playoff three times with the most recent playoff coming in 2010. Baker grew up a few hours away from Evansville in Brownstown, Indiana. Prior to turning professional, he attended Iowa State University where he was a standout on the men’s golf team. At the conclusion of this year’s Regular Season, Baker entered the week in Portland at No. 24 on the points list and left at No. 26, just 43 points shy of the final card. He looks to redeem himself this week and secure his first PGA TOUR card in his home state. Joining Baker in the field this week are Steve Wheatcroft and Chase Wright, who played their college golf at Indiana University. Wheatcroft enters the week ranked T80 in The Finals 25 and needs a solid showing to earn his 2019-20 PGA TOUR card. The 41-year-old has made nine cuts in 22 Korn Ferry Tour starts this season and earned a T2 finish at the Price Cutter Charity Championship presented by Dr Pepper. Wright, who spent last season on the PGA TOUR, needs a strong finish to have a chance at regaining PGA TOUR status for the 2019-20 season. The 30-year-old finished the 2018-19 PGA TOUR season ranked 156th in the FedExCup standings. During the 2018 Korn Ferry Tour season, Wright had five top-10s and a victory en route to earning his PGA TOUR card. Course History For the first time in tournament history, the Korn Ferry Tour Championship will be played at Victoria National Golf Club. The course previously hosted the Korn Ferry Tour’s United Leasing and Finance Championship from 2012-2018. The 7,242-yard layout has proven to be one of the most difficult courses on the Korn Ferry Tour each of the past seven seasons. In 2015, 2016 and 2018, Victoria National Golf Club ranked as the most difficult course on Tour. Last season, the course played to a scoring average of 74.490 and featured the three hardest holes on the Korn Ferry Tour. The par-4 14th ranked as the most difficult hole on Tour, while the par-4 18th and par-4 sixth ranked as the second- and third-hardest, respectively. Starting on the 14th hole, players will face a daunting finishing stretch at Victoria National with 25 PGA TOUR cards on the line. In 1999, the course was named the ‘Best New Private Course’ and has been ranked in Golf Digest’s ‘Top 100 United States Golf Courses’ every year since 2001. In 2019, Golf Digest ranked Victoria National as the 43rd best course in the country. NeSmith now leads The Finals 25 heading into this week’s Korn Ferry Tour Championship. • Scottie Scheffler – The University of Texas product heads to Victoria National holding the top spot in The 25. Scheffler is coming off a T11 finish in Boise and a win two weeks ago at the Nationwide Children’s Hospital Championship in Columbus.

Te Western Amateur Championship Records & Statistics Guide 1899-2020 for te 119t Westrn Amatur, July 26-31, 2021 Glen View Club Golf, Il. 18t editon compiled by Tim Cronin A Guide to The Guide –––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––– Welcome to the 119th Western Amateur Championship, and the 18th edition of The Western Amateur Records & Statistics Guide, as the championship returns to the Glen View Club for the first time since the 1899 inaugural. Since that first playing, the Western Amateur has provided some of the best competition in golf, amateur or professional. This record book allows reporters covering the Western Am the ability to easily compare current achievements to those of the past. It draws on research conducted by delving into old newspaper files, and by going through the Western Golf Association’s own Western Amateur files, which date to 1949. A few years ago, a major expansion of the Guide presented complete year-by-year records and a player register for 1899 through 1955, the pre-Sweet Sixteen era, for the first time. Details on some courses and field sizes from various years remain to be found, but no other amateur championship has such an in-depth resource. Remaining holes in the listings will continue to be filled in for future editions. The section on records has been revised, and begins on page 8. This includes overall records, including a summary on how the medalist fared, and more records covering the Sweet Sixteen years. The 209-page Guide is in two sections. Part 1 includes a year-by-year summary chart, records, a special chart detailing the 37 players who have played in the Sweet Sixteen in the 63 years since its adoption in 1956 and have won a professional major championship, and a comprehensive report on the Sweet Sixteen era through both year-by-year results and a player register.

  • Former US Open Champion Lucas Glover Takes
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Contact: Stewart Moore September 21, 2018 (904) 540-2765 Second-Round Leaderboard Pos. Name Scores 1 Lucas Glover 64-64—128 (-14) 2 Denny McCarthy 64-65—129 (-13) 3 Cameron Tringale 63-67—130 (-12) Former U.S. Open champion Lucas Glover takes 36-hole lead at Web.com Tour Championship ATLANTIC BEACH, Florida – Lucas Glover entered the Web.com Tour Finals with the likely safety net of a PGA TOUR medical extension but still in search of a victory and a guaranteed card for the 2018-19 season. The Greenville, South Carolina, native posted back-to-back rounds of 64 at the Web.com Tour Championship to reach 14-under par at host Atlantic Beach Country Club, good for a one-shot lead heading into Saturday’s third round of the Web.com Tour’s season-ending event. Glover played brilliant golf over the opening 36 holes in Atlantic Beach, recording 14 birdies against zero bogeys to finish the halfway point at 14-under par. After starting Friday’s second round in the afternoon wave, Glover parred his opening four holes before notching birdies on 14, 17 and 18 to turn in 3-under 33. Birdies on Nos. 1, 4, 6 and 7 vaulted him into the lead at 14-under par before he closed with pars on Nos. 8 and 9 to round out a closing 31 and a second-round 64. “Similar to yesterday, just gave myself a lot of chances and just converted a bunch of opportunities. Drove it a little better today and I’m hitting my irons a little worse, but same result, so pretty happy obviously,” he said after his round.
