GETTING THE JOB DONE!

Women have always played a key role in PSC’s success, dating back to the start of the company in 1952. Our founder’s wife, Helen Haymon, typed and mailed invoices, hosted dinner parties for employees and customers, and took emergency calls during the middle of the night. When Gaston Patin joined PSC to help D.H. Haymon start the country’s first tankerman service, his wife Catherine also supported the fledgling operation by taking calls from customers. She served as a full-time dispatcher for the Louisiana Tankerman Group from 1974 to 1981, and her photo is among those on the “Wall of Honor” in our HR and Training Center in Baton Rouge. Mrs. Haymon and Mrs. Patin would likely be very proud of the women featured in this RAILROAD LEADER cover story—and all of the women who are part of the PSC family today.
