Floor 4 René Magritte The Fifth Season Through Oct 28, 2018

Featuring more than 70 artworks in nine immersive, thematic galleries, this exhibition explores how the Belgian surrealist balanced irony and conviction, philosophy and fantasy, to illuminate the gaps between what we see and what we know.

New Work Etel Adnan Through Jan 6, 2019

A selection of new paintings by writer and artist Etel Adnan, who lived in the Bay Area for over 40 years, is juxtaposed with tapestries from the 1960s and today.

An exhibition of furniture by artist and architect Donald Judd, together with chairs he collected and admired, and newly fabricated Judd designs that visitors may sit on.

The Sea Ranch Architecture, Environment, and Idealism Dec 22, 2018–Apr 28, 2019

A beacon of 1960s Northern California Modernism, The Sea Ranch’s idealistic principles of architectural excellence, economy of space, and land stewardship continue to inspire.

Floor 7 Art and China after 1989 Theater of the World Nov 10, 2018–Feb 24, 2019

This exhibition presents works that anticipated, chronicled, and agitated for the sweeping social transformation that placed China at the center of the conversation on globalization.
