• A ‘charrette’ brings people together to discuss a place and how it could work. • Charrettes are an intensive way of working, usually taking place over several days. • During this time, a design studio is set up in the area, and everyone with an interest comes together to create a shared vision. Muirtown – South Charrette initially intended for SC £10,500  £150k Scott Govt Transport Fund for access improvements Kessock Charrette, Muirtown Basin was extended THC £7,000  £1.4m SNH Green Infrastructure Bid for access / cycling infrastructure Inverness to include South-Kessock and Scott Govt £17,500 prepared by THC / SC  THC in Stage 2 bid for £140k SUSTRANS (Community Links) Merkinch Regeneration area,  THC have recently produced Development Brief for area which is held Spring 2014. founded upon charrette ideas and proposals

COST = £35,000 POTENTIAL FUNDING UNLOCKED = £1.7m so far

Bowling Basin SC and West Dunb Council SC £7,500  Project got Scottish Govt Award for Quality in Planning 2014 Charrette, West held a charrette in Spring 2014 WDC £7,500  £50,000 additional funding provided by WDC in support  Dunbartonshire to create Masterplan for the Scott Govt £15,000 Masterplan prepared and about to be submitted for Planning  £1.1m Coastal Communities Fund grant secured for Bowling area.

• Policy and Resources Committee on 12 May 2016 agreed the main objective for the Fund is: To promote the regeneration and/or economic development of the Mid Argyll area. P&R Committee also identified a number of criteria against which projects would be considered

• 14 projects suggested to proceed to Stage 2 in Lochgilphead and Ardrishaig

• Stage 2 criteria to reflect P&R approved criteria – assessment ongoing

• Present draft stage 2 assessment at MAKI BD workshop September 2016 for input from members

• Prepare final recommendations for MAKI AC December 2016 (also report on Crinan Canal Charrette at this meeting)
