- placement.usask.ca - Opens February, 2017 - placement.usask.ca - best possible matches based on personality, skills,program and location. - Elementary program: any K-8 classroom - Secondary program: Major or minor Internship Process Timeline

• February-April: Application opens, special circumstances are confirmed and teacher lists are sent to divisions for approval. • March-April- Call for Facilitators to Divisions, initial matches are made. • May- Final Intern placements made, sent to divisions, schools, and teachers for approval. Necessary changes made. • End of May: Interns receive internship placements. • June: Pre-orientation seminars in May-August – changes of requests, new requests, withdrawals, etc.. • June-August- Organization of facilitators for interns. • August: Facilitator and Intern Orientation. • End of August: Interns start in schools. Internship Timeline

- Fall Internship Schedule (approx. 16 weeks in schools):

- Mandatory 1 day Orientation: Week of August 20th or 21st (tentative) - Report to Schools: Week of August 24th (depending upon school division calendar) - Dec. 9th, 2016 - Placement application opens end of February and closes after 3 weeks. - Information placement sessions in March re: placement.usask.ca - Middle of May, 2017- placement letters sent out to teachers - End of May- placement letters sent out to interns. *Please note this is a tentative schedule and may be subject to change. A Few Key Points:

- 16 weeks in schools

- Submit 3 UBD units (at least one with FNMI content/ perspective) to facilitator for review.

- PGP (eportfolio) will be monitored by facilitator on a regular basis

Special considerations (with supporting documentation) include and are not necessarily limited to:

6.4.2 Each request for special consideration in placement is considered on an individual basis. Special consideration in placements may be granted for the following reasons: (1) dependent children {under the age of 16}; (2) compassionate reasons; (3) academic reasons; and (4) Outstanding contributions to extra-curricular activities of the University. - You cannot solicit your own placement. - Once you receive your placement letter, contact the teacher immediately to meet. - CRC with vulnerable sector check. A new one dated within 6 months of school start date must be forwarded to Field Experiences prior to orientation so it does not disrupt your start date.
