2021 ISCA INTERNATIONAL SENIOR CUP

The 2021 International Senior Cup is going to be a tremendous event with your help and understanding. First and foremost, we are in an unusual time in the sport's world with COVID. However, I feel we can have the best event since COVID began last March, if we all do our share to make it a tremendous SUCCESS! We were able to secure a FINA sanction for the meet which will definitely help foreign athletes who are in the US.

FINA Approval

Peter Lagow will be the meet referee. He also is our FINA referee. If you'd like to officiate, so you can have a front row seat to some fast , please contact Peter at [email protected].

First, we must abide by Pinellas County COVID0-19 Event Safety Plan.

1. Face masks are mandatory for all participants, coaches, officials, and all volunteers. 2. Social distancing must be maintained to the greatest extent practical at all times. 3. Screening will be required at entrance each day, including warm-up days. 4. There will be a designated Ingress/Egress pattern, which must be followed at all times. 5. There will be a limitation on the number of total people allowed in the facility for each session. 6. There will be sanitation stations set up throughout the meet. 7. The plan does not require compliance with the requirement to wear a face covering while attending the event for the following: a.) children under the age of 2 b.) when actively eating or drinking while stationary or seating and maintaining social distancing. c.) While you are swimming. d.) In any manner that would conflict with the Americans Disability Act (ADA).

After all the COVID rules and regulations, we are now unto the fun and fast part of why we are getting together. We are going to have a meet with some of the fastest swimmers in the world competing. A few names you are all familiar with are Caelab Dressel, , , and Jack Conger, to name a few.

We will have 750 swimmers broken out into 3-waves for the preliminary session, which will be swum in a 25-yard course. All finals will be held in a 50-meter race course.

Because of the waves, we will not be able to swim all of the relays as we had previously hoped. We will be swimming the Senior 200-medley and 200-freestyle relays, men & women, on Tuesday, March 23rd, to go with the 800 & 1500 free, that day. We will also swim at finals the 400 mixed freestyle relay (2 women/2 men) on Wednesday evening. On Thursday evening, we will swim at finals the 400 mixed medley relay.

We will have extra long-course warm-up times for teams proceeding the start of the event. On Sunday, March 21st, the pool will be open long-course from 4:30-7:00 p.m. On Monday, March 22nd, the pool will be open from 7:00-9:00 a.m. long-course, and again, 6:30-9:00 p.m. On March 23rd, the pool will be long-course, opening at 7:00 a.m. until the start of the meet.

We will have a contact person at the pool to assist with organizing your team for warm-up. We cannot have more than 14 people per lane with 7 off of each end. We would like teams to not take up more than 40-45 minutes in the pool, so more swimmers get an opportunity to swim.
