  • 2018-Mid-Year-Political-Contributions
1 Verizon Political Activity January – June 2018 A Message from Craig Silliman Verizon is affected by a wide variety of government policies -- from telecommunications regulation to taxation to health care and more -- that have an enormous impact on the business climate in which we operate. We owe it to our shareowners, employees and customers to advocate public policies that will enable us to compete fairly and freely in the marketplace. Political contributions are one way we support the democratic electoral process and participate in the policy dialogue. Our employees have established political action committees at the federal level and in 18 states. These political action committees (PACs) allow employees to pool their resources to support candidates for office who generally support the public policies our employees advocate. This report lists all PAC contributions, corporate political contributions, support for ballot initiatives and independent expenditures made by Verizon and its affiliates during the first half of 2018. The contribution process is overseen by the Corporate Governance and Policy Committee of our Board of Directors, which receives a comprehensive report and briefing on these activities at least annually. We intend to update this voluntary disclosure twice a year and publish it on our corporate website. We believe this transparency with respect to our political spending is in keeping with our commitment to good corporate governance and a further sign of our responsiveness to the interests of our shareowners. Craig L. Silliman Executive Vice President, Public Policy and General Counsel 2 Verizon Political Activity January – June 2018 Political Contributions Policy: Our Voice in the Democratic Process What are the Verizon Political Action Committees? regulations govern many aspects of the contributions process including the setting of monetary contribution limitations and The Verizon Political Action Committees (PACs) exist to help the establishment of periodic reporting requirements.

  • 2017 Regular Voting Session of the Records Florida Legislature
2017 Regular Voting Session of the Records Florida Legislature ASSOCIATED INDUSTRIES OF FLORIDA The Voice of Florida Business Since 1920 2017 CHAMPIONS for BUSINESSPage 25 AIF Voting Records • 2017 1 Dear Employer: It is my pleasure to provide you with this tabulation of the voting conduct of each member of the Florida Legislature during the 2017 Regular Session. Voting Records reports on the votes made by every legislator on bills that were advocated, promoted or opposed by Associated Industries of Florida (AIF). By reporting on 5,668 votes cast by legislators on 59 bills, this publication embodies the most exhaustive and complete record of the Tom C. Feeney President & Legislature’s approach to the concerns of Florida’s employers. Chief Executive Officer We go to great lengths to ensure that legislators are aware of AIF’s positions on issues of great importance to the business community. Every year before the session begins, we produce AIF’s Session Priorities, which explains why we support or oppose key issues. In addition, during the session we provide each legislator with a Daily Brief on the activities of that day, highlighting bills of interest to business and our positions on those issues. Our greatest asset, however, is our experienced and accomplished legislative team, which has compiled a record of success second to none. For 42 years AIF has published Voting Records yet, these records only tell part of the story. AIF also helps its member companies detect what bills and amendments are filed and by whom, and who is taking part in behind-the-scene efforts and debates on behalf of the busi- ness community.

  • The Morning Read of What's Hot in Florida Politics –
Sunburn – The Morning Read Of What’s Hot In Florida Politics – 5.11.21 By Peter Schorsch Good Tuesday morning. Lobbying firm Capital City Consulting will announce today that Jared Rosenstein has joined its team of government affairs consultants. Rosenstein comes to the firm from the Florida Division of Emergency Management, where he served as legislative affairs director. “Jared fits our firm culture of hard work, a deep knowledge of issues, and attention to detail very well. He will undoubtedly provide top-notch government affairs services at the state level and before local governments in South Florida,” founding partner Ron LaFace, Jr. added. Congratulations to Jared Rosenstein, the newest government affairs expert at Capital City Consulting. Before FDEM, Rosenstein served as a legislative assistant to then-Rep. Jared Moskowitz during his time in the House. He also served as a district aide to former Rep. Bill Hager and interned under former Rep. Holly Raschein and former Sen. Ellyn Bogdanoff. Capital City Consulting founding partner Nick Iarossi said Rosenstein’s experience working with Democratic and Republican lawmakers would be an asset to the firm. “Jared’s experience as a legislative aide in the Florida House of Representatives and most recently as legislative director at the Florida Division of Emergency Management dealing with hurricane recovery and the COVID-19 pandemic will be a tremendous benefit to CCC’s clients,” Iarossi said. “His ability to work with all policymakers from every party and region is like no one I have ever encountered, and I’m very happy he is joining our growing team.” “I am so honored to join Capital City Consulting — their team of professionals is unrivaled,” he said.
