Pressmeddelande 2010-05-10 Pressmeddelande, 15 september 2011 Voddler launches film-app for Nokia-phones Voddler, Scandinavia’s leading online film service, just launched a specially designed movie-app for Symbian platforms and Nokia-phones. Thanks to the DRM- and copy protection systems used on Nokia- devices – systems approved by the leading film studios – you can watch the latest blockbuster rentals directly in your phone, on top of all the ad-funded titles Voddler also offers. The app is free and works on Symbian smart phones that have upgraded to Symbian Anna. The app is available in Ovi Store. In the past months, Voddler has released film apps for iPhone, iPad and Android devices. Voddler now launches a specially designed app for the Symbian-platform for Nokia’s smart phones. - You should be able to watch movies when and where you like, regardless of which screen you happen to have next to you. Some mobile platforms still have business restrictions or technical limitations, but on our Nokia-app we can now offer all the films that Voddler has, both new rentals and classic ad-funded titles, says Anders Sjöman, VP Communication at Voddler. - The copy protection system in Nokia’s phones makes it possible to show the very latest movies, that otherwise only are available in DVD-stores or in web-based VOD-services. Up until now, it has not been possible to show these on mobile devices, says Christophe Joyau, Head of Services, Nokia North. At launch, the app has about 250 movies activated for mobile viewing. New titles will be added on a running basis from Voddler’s growing catalog of over 4,500 titles. Among the movies that you can see at launch are new releases like No Strings Attached, Red Riding Hood, Due Date and The Town, modern classics like the Harry Potter-series or the Matrix-series, or family titles like Chicken Little and Dinosaur. Voddler’s Symbian app does not require any specific subscription, only that the user upgrades to Symbian Anna. Symbian Anna is an upgrade to the Symbian operating system, which comes with an improved user experience, including a new user interface, improved web browser, increases security and an upgrade of Nokia Maps. Movies in the Voddler app are shown both over mobile networks and WiFi. The app is available in Ovi Store. Download it to your Nokia handset or from this link: http://store.ovi.com/content/187345 Works on all compatible Symbian 3 devices, such as Nokia C7-00, Nokia X7-00, Nokia Oro, Nokia 701, Nokia 500, Nokia 700, Nokia N8-00, Nokia 600, Nokia C6-01, Nokia C7 Astound, and Nokia E7-00 For more information: Anders Sjöman, VP Communication, Voddler, [email protected], +46707176078, @anderssjoman on Twitter Christophe Joyau, Head of Services, Nokia North [email protected], +46 709 93 83 82 Oskar Södergren, Communications Manager, Nokia North [email protected], +46 709 93 83 94 VODDLER GROUP Hangövägen 18, 115 40 Stockholm | Sweden | PHONE +46 (0) 820 96 31 | FAX: +46 (0) 820 96 32 | www.voddler.com About Voddler Video-on-demand (VOD) service Voddler offers the best movies and series, legally, directly to any internet-enabled device. • Mobile Access to Cultural and Historical Heritage Web Pages
Mobile Access to Cultural and Historical Heritage Web Pages Tihomir Stefanov, Milena Stefanova St Cyril and St Methodius University of Veliko Tarnovo, Faculty of Mathematics and Informatics, 2, T. Tarnovski Str., 5003 Veliko Tarnovo, Bulgaria [email protected], [email protected] Abstract. The main focus of attention in this paper is the access to websites of leading regional, national and world museums. Their accessibility from desktop and mobile devices is hereby evaluated. The paper covers a detailed analysis of the mobile operating systems, their market share in Bulgaria and the opportuni- ties they offer to the users. The need for contemporary cultural and historical heritage websites which maintain lighter but fully-functioning mobile versions, facilitating and making their access from portable devices easier, is also well- grounded here. Keywords: Historical Museums Web-Sites, Mobile Access, Mobile Operating Systems, Mobile Phones, Smart Phones 1 Introduction Ever since its formation in 1988 till now (Q3 2012/third trimester), one of the fastest developing segments of the economy is the mobile communications market. There are many factors contributing to this development: increase in the demand for mobile services, the working out of new technologies, as well as their very quick reach to the end-user. According to a survey carried out by IAB (Interactive Advertising Bureau) Bulgar- ia, 500 000 people countrywide use Internet from their mobile phones, while 19% of all internet users use more than one device for internet access. The same sharp in- crease in the number of mobile internet users has triggered the initiative to carry out a survey on the possible access to cultural and historical heritage websites.
