SAGINAW Murder victim’s family cheers at sentencing

Ralph Butler will be 117 before he is eligi- ble for parole. Andrew Cannon’s family could not be happier. “I’ve been waiting for this day ever since they found my brother Andrew dead,” Ber- tha Cannon said. Butler was sentenced to 66 to 100 years in prison on Monday for Cannon’s death. A passerby found Cannon’s body in a grassy patch along Hartsuff Road in Buena Vista Township on Dec. 3, 2016. Authorities said Cannon had been stabbed to death in his home in the 400 block of 13th Street in the city of Saginaw. He suffered more than 50 stab wounds. Butler also cut off Cannon’s fingers and dis- posed of them in a trash bin at the Dollar General at 1122 E. Genesee.
