FOR THE ATTENTION OF THE REVIEW OFFICER

When last the Boundary Commission reviewed the boundaries of , there was a considerable amount of confusion with Northchurch extending as far as , Ashley Green and even taking in parts of . Northchurch Parish Council consulted its residents and everyone was given the opportunity of voting in particular with the problems with the Berkhamsted Town Council proposals (which, at that stage, included the disappearance of Northchurch Parish Council with all matters being decided by Berkhamsted). The Parish Council also gave to Potten End the Nettleden voters and to Berkhamsted Town Council the voters who were situated in the Hall Park area who obviously should have been voting in Berkhamsted. Some 400 homes out of a total of 1,600 completed their form indicating their desire that Northchurch should stay as Northchurch with all areas reporting to Northchurch Parish Council. The modifications, which were accepted with one small exclusion, resulted in all of the Northchurch boundaries being the same, i.e. Parish, Government electoral, Herts County Council and Borough Council. All of these boundaries are exactly the same which totally removes confusion in the minds of the general public and satisfies those who voted way back in the dim distant past. The number of voters in the area is easily serviced by the various representatives who have been elected. We therefore do not see any reason for any changes in the current boundaries which have been satisfactorily in use for the last 20 years.

Should you require further information, feel free to ask.

Members of Royston Town Council support the current boundary arangements for Royston and surrounding villages, with the provision of one County Councillor for Royston and one for the villages and see no reason for this to change. This was unanimously agreed
