That atmosphere was, by all accounts, electric. But why should it be a one-time occurrence? Said Krzyzewski: “It’s party time every time [Duke comes] to town, but [Michigan] is a great school and they deserve this level of support for every game.” For once, Coach K is right. Eastern Michigan may be 2-6. They may not have beaten a D-I opponent yet this year. They may be 2-19 against Michigan. But that’s no excuse not to bring it just like we did for the Blue Devils. The next few games on the schedule may seem like we can take them for granted, but for a team and a crowd that had a front row view for the Savannah State game, overlooking any team is inexcusable. EMU may not be on the level of Duke, but it’s our job to make sure that the atmosphere is indistinguishable.
