Events the procs outweigh the cons. One of the biggest cons of having no more exemptions was that there is now a major increase in absences. With the Milestones at the end of the year, finals add 4/12 The Blue and White Ball 4/19 Student Staff Holiday extra stress on us students, so getting the news that exemptions are back is a 4/25 Class Meeting (for High School) huge relief. An administator at one of the meetings stated,”The students at West 4/30 Progress Reports Go Home Laurens Middle and High are failing more classes than they have in past years

Car Rider Line Problems

If you’re one of the people who are always late in the mornings because of the long car rider line that sometimes extends all the way to the technical college, you know that the line isn’t anything except ANNOYING! There are busses trying to get to the ramps, cars trying to get in the left lane, teachers trying to go to the parking lot - it’s just chaotic! Some would recommend creating another lane just for busses, some may say that they need to have more traffic directors, and of course, M OST say, “Get here on time, and you wouldn’t have to worry about the line.” If you’re already late, then you have to worry about 6th graders going to connections (8:05) and cutting across to the gym. The problems are endless, and it is causing students to accumulate tardies to school. Fortunately, the office has extended homeroom by 10 minutes to accommodate these late students. However, the WLHS Tardy Policy states, ”When arriving less than 10 minutes late for a class , students are tardy. After 10 minutes, the student is considered absent for that class and needs to report to the office to sign in and receive an admission slip to class. A student is expected to be punctual to school and to classes. Being on time demonstrates a sense of personal respon sibility as well as a respect for the educational process. The tardies are per 9 weeks, and they do not go away. They accumulate until the new 9 weeks starts over. Consequences of being tardy: (1-3): no punishment, first 3 are free. (4-5) : 1 day ISS. (6-9): 2 days ISS. (10-11): 3 days ISS. (12 or more): OSS until parent conference.

Spill the Tea  Please serve something good in the lunchroom!  I think the school should be bigger because of how many new people we are getting, and how many teachers are complaining.  It’s 2019; bullies, get over yourselves.  People need to stop getting butt hurt over stupid stuff.  I want to spill the tea about girls talking too much much. When the teacher tells you to do something, just do it; don’t say anything back!  I realllllly dislike how my ex talks to my friends. Also, how much people talk too much. DROP THE DRAMA!  We should have real chips like Takis; you would make good cash!  I feel that it is unreasonable that people who get in fights have at least a week in ISS, but as soon as they get caught vaping, they only have 2 days max just to get out and start vaping again.  Dillards doesn’t have the right size in my dress.  The lunchroom lines are so long. I have no time to eat!  Quit being so sensitive; take a joke.  More creative writing assignments and less essays.  A certain 8th grader is rude.  I’m so scared for high school...but honestly WooWooWoo!  During the third nine weeks, I killed Clarence the spider...sorry, Mrs. Carr.  Why does Fender Goggans keep your braces on so long? It’s only for money!  8th grade field trip announcement coming SOON! – Actually, find it in this month’s edition. 

 I think that WLMS needs more security, not just officer Gillis.  The teachers on the 100 hall don’t give out enough PBIS stamps.  When you’re sleeping in class, when you’re not paying attention to the teacher, and when you’re texting and checking Snapchat in class, don’t complain about not understanding or wonder why you’re failing!  Mrs. Slaughter is a MATH teacher, NOT an ELA teacher! And she’s the best teacher, and we are her favorite students! (Ella & Breanna)

Colossians 3:2 3 says, “Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord and not for men.” When Paul wrote this book, the book of Colossians, he is often times found talking about attitude and thanksgiving. I personally love this verse, because it reminds me of many things. It reminds be do give my best at everything I do, even though I don’t do that all the time. If my goal is to keep my room clean, which it should be, then I need to put forth my best effort to do that. Some people read this verse and pair it with their grades, or how they play on the ball field. One person that I always think about when I think of taking pride in something is Brayleigh Rowland. To her, her grades are extremely important, and so is her life. She dances for countless hours each week, and still keeps outstanding grades. Even though she is a great student and a great dancer, she never boasts about any of it. That is what God calls us to do, he wants us to work our hardest, and glorify him. Ephesians 2:8-9 says, “...and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God— not by your works, so that no one can boast.” God gives us everything we have, and he wants us to take a strong, divine pride in these things. We don’t deserve any of it, but he still willfully gives it all to us. We are asked to try hard in school, not to make our teachers and parents

look good, but to make a better future for ourselves. At school, we are asked to “...work heartily…” just like we are by God. Even though the verse from Colossians was written by Devotion Submissions can Paul, the Bible also says that “All scripture is God breathed.” It is imperative that we work be emailed to Mrs. Weeks hard and take pride in everything we do, whether it be cleaning our room, keeping good 5 or Mrs. Kemp or placed in grades, or playing on the ball field because with God, all things are possible. the Spill the Tea folders.
