Coed Slow Pitch Softball League Rules

1) 20 players per roster. 10 field positions. To play a game each team needs at least 8 players: 4 male and 4 female 2) Players have to be 18 years or older 3) Teams can play with more female players than male players: 6 females and 4 males. You cannot play with 6 males and 4 females. 4) Teams must supply their own NEW ASA or USSSA Stamped bats, subject to inspection each game 5) Official Game Balls will be provided by Town of Marana Parks and Recreation Department 6) Batting order must alternate male and female or female and male players. You must have an equal amount of male and female players. Ex: 5 male and 5 female, 6 male and 6 female, etc. 7) Hitting up the middle is closed for male batters a. Such a hit results in an out b. Pitcher has the option to wear a protective mask, provided by the player 8) If a team is playing with 8 players they will take 2 outs at the end of the batting order. If a team is playing with 9 players they will take 1 out at the end of the batting order. 9) If a male batter gets walked he will be awarded 2 bases. The female batter has the option to bat or take a walk. 10) You can bat up to 20 players 11) California rule* will be used in playoff only. If game is tied during regular season, game will end in tie 12) Run rule: 20 runs after 3 innings, 15 runs after 4 innings, 10 after 5 innings 13) Games will be 7 innings long or up to time limit a. 55 minute game time. No new inning can start after 55 minutes 14) Teams can only score 10 runs in the first 4 innings, then teams will switch 15) Pitches must have 3 feet to 10 feet of arc, or could be called an illegal pitch if not hit in play 16) Pitcher can pump fake but has 3 seconds to deliver pitch from start of fake at rubber 17) Free substitutions on defense 18) Each batter starts with a 1-1 count on them 19) Rosters will freeze after 3rd week of season. 20 players per team 20) Players will have to show ID at the start of playoffs. If player is not on the roster then they cannot play. 21) Senior League bats can’t be used 22) 2 Home runs per game, each home run after will be an out 23) If runner crosses half way line on third baseline they must commit to come to home plate. All plays at home are force outs. Defense has to touch plate before runner crosses line to get them out.

*California Rule: In the event of a playoff game ending in a tie, extra innings will begin with the last person batted out starting on second base.
