ORDINANCE NO. an Ordinance Amending ORDINANCE NO. _ An ordinance amending Sections 88.00 and 88.50 of Chapter VIII, Division "U" of the Los Angeles Municipal Code to revise the boundaries of various Parking Meter Zones and update the list of public off-street parking facilities. THE PEOPLE OF THE CITY OF LOS ANGELES DO ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. Section 88.00 of Chapter VIII of the Los Angeles Municipal Code is amended in its entirety to read as follows: SEC. 88.00. PARKING METER ZONES AND RATES ESTABLISHED. The following parking meter zones and hourly rates therefor are hereby established. Payment of the rates established in this section shall be in accordance with the appropriate schedules established by the Board. 1. Van Nuys Parking Meter Zone - $1.00 per hour. This zone includes: (A} All streets within the area bound by the following street segments: (1) Sherman Way from Hazeltine Avenue to Kester Avenue. (2) Hazeltine Avenue from Sherman Way to Magnolia Boulevard. (3) Magnolia Boulevard from Hazeltine Avenue to Kester Avenue. (4) Kester Avenue from Magnolia Boulevard to Sherman Way. (B) All boundary street segments set forth in (A) above, except Magnolia Boulevard. 2. North Hollywood Parking Meter Zone - $1.00 per hour. This zone includes: (A) All streets within the area bound by the following street segments: (1) Burbank Boulevardfrom Tujunga Avenue to Cahuenga Boulevard. (2) Cahuenga Boulevard from Burbank Boulevard to the Los Angeles River. 1 (3) The Los Angeles River from Cahuenga Boulevard to Tujunga Avenue. (4) Tujunga Avenue from the Los Angeles River to Burbank Boulevard. (B) All boundary street segments set forth in (A) above. (C) The following street segments: (1) Moorpark Street from Tujunga Avenue to Kraft Avenue. (2) Woodbridge Street from Tujunga Avenue to Kraft Avenue. 3. Sunset-Gardner Parking Meter Zone - $1.00 per hour. This zone includes: (A) The following street segments: (1) Sunset Boulevard from La Brea Avenue to the City limits west of Havenhurst Drive. (2) All streets intersecting Sunset Boulevard between La Brea Avenue and the City limits west of Havenhurst Drive, from Sunset Boulevard to the end of the contiguous commercial properties northerly and southerly thereof. 4. Vermont-Hollywood Parking Meter Zone - $1.00 per hour. This zone includes: (A) All streets within the area bound by the following street segments: (1) Hollywood Boulevard from Edgemont Street to Hillhurst Avenue. (2) Edgemont Street from Hollywood Boulevard to Los Feliz Boulevard. (3) Los Feliz Boulevard from Edgemont Street to Commonwealth Avenue. (4) Commonwealth Avenue from Los Feliz Boulevard to Prospect Avenue. (5) Prospect Avenue from Commonwealth Avenue to Hillhurst Avenue. 2 (6) Hillhurst Avenue from Prospect Avenue to Hollywood Boulevard. (B) All boundary street segments set forth in (A) above. 5. Watts Parking Meter Zone - $1.00 per hour. This zone includes: (A) The following street segments: (1) The west side of Wilmington Avenue from East 102nd Street to East 103rd Street. (2) Beach Street from 102nd Street to 103rd Street. (3) Graham Avenue from 103rd Street to 103rd Place. (4) The west side of Grandee Avenue from 103rd Street to 103rd Place. (5) 103rd Street from Wilmington Avenue to the alley west of Compton Avenue. 6. Wilshire-Western Parking Meter Zone. (I) Sub-Zone I - $1.00 per hour. Sub-Zone I includes: (A) The following street segments: (1) Western Avenue from: (a) Melrose Avenue to 6th Street. (b) 7th Street to Venice Boulevard. (2) All streets intersecting Western Avenue, as set forth in (A1) above, from Western Avenue to the end of the contiguous commercial properties easterly and westerly thereof. (3) Beverly Boulevard from Manhattan Place to Vermont Avenue. (4) All streets intersecting Beverly Boulevard between Western Avenue and Vermont Avenue, from Beverly Boulevard to the end of the contiguous commercial properties northerly and southerly thereof. Ricky Williams Date: October 5, 2016 Subject: Greyhound Site Residential Development Traffic Operations Analysis Introduction Hexagon Transportation Consultants, Inc. has completed a traffic operations study for the proposed residential development on the Greyhound site in San Jose. The project as proposed would consist of two towers providing up to 785 residential units with up to 20,000 square feet (s.f.) of ground floor retail. The site is located along the south side of Post Street, between South Almaden Avenue and South San Pedro Street. The site was formerly occupied by the Greyhound Bus Station. Figure 1 shows the project site location. The proposed project’s most recent description states that the project will be accessed via two full-access residential driveways and two loading driveways along South San Pedro Street. However, the City has stated that only a total of three driveways, two on San Pedro Street and one on Almaden Avenue will be allowed. The City has recommended that the proposed site access be adjusted to provide the two full access residential driveways on San Pedro Street and an on-site loading dock along Almaden Avenue as Almaden Avenue has larger curb-to- curb width to allow for truck movements. Since the project site is located in the Downtown Core area boundary, it is covered under the San Jose Downtown Strategy 2000 Environmental Impact Report (EIR). Accordingly, City staff has already concluded that the project is in conformance with the City of San Jose Transportation Level of Service Policy (Council Policy 5-3) and will not require preparation of a comprehensive Transportation Impact Analysis (TIA).

Chavez Ave. in East Los Angeles in the 1990s Abstract Key Words: Commemorative Memorial, Multiethnic, Representation, Boyle Heights, Civic Memory In East Los Angeles during 1994, the Jewish Historical Society of Southern California (J.H.S.) and the concerned citizens of Sunset Boulevard circulated petitions to halt the name change of Brooklyn, Macy, and a portion of Sunset to Cesar E. Chavez Avenue that had been initiated by the City Council. The idea that history itself could be erased was a prominent point of contention along with potential economic hardships that would be acquired by small businesses in the affected areas. Nevertheless, supporters in the community and the City Council insisted it was crucial to properly honor Cesar Chavez and provide a "positive role model" to the existing Latino population. Street names play a significant role in the way residents understand their local histories; this is especially the case in Boyle Heights, a multiethnic neighborhood in East Los Angeles. Commemorative memorials and signage can influence civic memory through the presentation and performance of knowledge by framing and deploying history. However, the process of framing history involves highlighting specific historical events while simultaneously ignoring others. The lot size of the subject property is approximately 65 feet by 160 feet. The subject property, erected in 1940, is located in a mixed single- and multi- family residential neighborhood and consists of a pair of two-story buildings: a six-unit main building (1924-34 Montana Avenue) and a combination garage and second story apartment structure (1920 Montana Avenue). The main building is situated near the southwest corner of Montana Avenue and 20th Street with its primary (north and east) elevations facing both of these streets. The garage/apartment structure occupies the west end of the parcel at Montana Avenue and an alley known as 19th Court. Its primary elevation faces Montana Avenue (north). This property has not been previously identified and assessed as part of the City’s on- going survey process. The subject property is vernacular Modern in architectural style with both buildings capped by low-pitched hipped roofs with small vent dormers and shallow boxed eaves.
