“The house that we have now is not the property that we purchased all those years ago; back then it was a rather modest four-bedroom home, whereas now it is a lot bigger. We considered moving at one point, but we love the location so much that we decided to stay and transform the house we had into the house we wanted. The front of the property was pulled forward, which gave us a much bigger drawing room, we added another reception room, a beautiful conservatory and a lovely big master suite above the garage. It’s now a really impressive home with lots of space and a very comfortable layout. We have rooms that are cosy and snug, and larger spaces – such as the main drawing room, library-cum-bar area and the conservatory – which open into one another to create an almost open-plan layout. It’s a beautiful home and one that we will be very sad to leave.”

“The garden is another lovely feature of the property and because of our elevated location we are afforded some really spectacular views,” continues the owner. “We’ve developed the space to be attractive but very low maintenance, so we have a good size open lawn, a gravelled terrace and a decked seating area right at the top, where we can sit out and take in our glorious surroundings.”

“Our favourite room is actually the small lounge, which we’re sitting in right now,” says the owner. “However, the most impressive part of the house would have to be the main drawing room that feeds into the bar. It’s a very elegant room and so it’s the perfect space for get-togethers with family and friends.”

“The setting is absolutely beautiful and so incredibly quiet – often the only sound to be heard is that of the birds singing – and Reynoldston is a fabulous little village. The pub, which does some very nice food, is just a stroll away; there’s a Post Office, a convenience store at the nearby garage and a very active village hall, so there’s plenty to get involved with. We’re also just a short drive from a number of stunning beaches and completely surrounded by some of the most beautiful countryside in the UK. In my mind it’s a location that would be hard to better.”

“This is a wonderful house to entertain in,” says the owner. “If we’re having a party we can open up the doors between the large drawing room and the conservatory and create a lovely big space for our guests.”

“We are moving to be closer to our family, however it’s fair to say that we will both really miss this house,” says the owner. “It’s spacious, yet incredibly comfortable, and the location is utterly stunning. It’s been a very happy home for the past 31 years.”
