    OTHER HOCKEY LEAGUES {Appendix 4.1, to Sports Facility Reports, Volume 16} Research completed as of August 7, 2015 NATIONAL WOMEN’S HOCKEY LEAGUE League Update: The league’s inaugural season will begin in October 2015 with four teams: Boston Pride, Buffalo Beauts, Connecticut Whale, and New York Riveters. All the teams are owned and paid for through the NWHL Foundation, which is a non-profit organization. The foundation is depending on donations to fulfill its goal of being able to pay the players, and provide the education and training opportunities to youths to increase female participation in hockey throughout the country.
