News

PCSO Kurk Brookes, PCSO Wright and PC Morris have carried out regular patrols around the parks and open green spaces due to reports of anti-social behaviour. We currently have a live Sentinel running in relation to this, Sentinel is our anti-social behaviour recording system and is monitored and updated regularly by the Officer in the case to keep a running log of calls, incidents and the work being undertaken.

PCSO Brookes also attended the Braunstone Town council meeting and updated them with the new crime figures. No additional issues were raised during the meeting.

With the clubs reopening and the more relaxed government restrictions PC Morris and Officers across the beats have been doing night shifts in Hinckley & for additional cover. Locally reports of any issues have been minimal and we would urge you all to adhere to the restrictions issued and respect the staff and workers at local establishments.

PC Morris and PC Clough have been in contact with Environmental Health in relation to a local residential property due to it being a health hazard and as a result they have entered with a cleaning company to clear it out.

Officers will be attending a Beat Surgery at the Thorpe Astley Community Centre on Monday 9th August at 1800 hours. Please feel free to drop by and discuss any local issues.

Some of our Officers will be at the Braunstone Town Summer Fete on 07th August 2021 and also at The Horticultural, Arts and Crafts Fair at the Civic Centre on 22nd August 2021. It would be lovely to see local residents in attendance. If you have any concerns about a local issue please do get in contact either online or 101, or in an emergency 999.

Please find below updates from your local beat team in relation to the priorities you have raised via Neighbourhood Link:

• You said - Anti-social behaviour (ASB). The beat team have continued to address reports of anti-social behaviour around the open green spaces and parks. A pro-active approach has seen officers on foot patrol in plain clothes and patrolling areas such as Mossdale Park, Shakespeare Park and Franklin Park. PC Jenny Morris and PCSO Duane Wright spent an entire shift patrolling the parks this month after several reports were called in. We are aware of issues which have been largely unreported to us in relation to the anti-social behaviour of alleged stolen motorbikes being ridden around the location. Enquiries are ongoing in relation to this.

• You said - Road safety. PC Clough and PCSO Wright have conducted proactive high visibility patrols, showing presence around Millfield L.E.A.D Academy and Ravenhurst Primary School during afternoon collection time. This was decided after receiving information in relation to dangerous and inconsiderate parking. Speed monitoring in highlighted locations is continuing in the area, we are working closely with the County Council to analyse the speed data to establish if enforcement is required and where.

• You said – Vehicle crime. Targeted patrols have continued around the beat in relation to vehicle related crime. PCSO Jordan and PCSO Wright have been dealing with several reports of theft of motor vehicles, predominately bikes and mopeds. Some of these thefts have been linked, investigations are continuing and intelligence is being gathered to ascertain the perpetrators.

• You said - Nuisance motorbikes. Reports of dirt bikes or motorbikes have been reported riding in an anti-social manner along the track behind Aldi and Kingsway School. In addition we have received reports of a stolen motorbike riding around Braunstone Town. This bike has now been recovered and sent for forensics. The riders of these bikes who are causing this anti-social behaviour are notoriously difficult to locate and we rely heavily on help from local residents to help identify them. If you think you may know who these individuals are we would urge you to contact us as soon as possible.

What you have told us has helped shape our priorities for this beat. My colleagues and I will continue to keep you up to date on our progress. You can also follow what we are doing at Blaby Police on Facebook and Twitter. If you have any further feedback, questions or concerns then please do not hesitate to get in contact or say hello when you see us on the street. Of course, please remember you can report crime online at www.leics.police.uk or call 101. Please dial 999 in an emergency.
