The Bruins and Huskies are set to kick off at 8:00 on Thursday night, while the clash with the Thu. 4 Washington P12N 8 p.m. Beavers will start at 12:00 p.m. on Sunday. Both contests will be televised by the Pac-12 Networks, whlie live stats and an audio broadcast will be available through UCLABruins.com. Sun. 7 No. 28 Oregon State P12N 12 p.m. WEEK IN REVIEW Sat. 13 at San Diego State Stream 7 p.m. UCLA traveled to the Bay Area last week to open up conference play and came away with a split after topping Cal 2-1 on Thursday Sat. 20 Loyola Marymount 7 p.m. before falling 3-0 at Stanford on Sunday. Brandon Terwege scored the opener in Berkeley, getting his head on an Alex Knox cross Thu. 25 at Washington P12N 8 p.m. in the first half. Cal equalized in the second half, but the tie lasted less than four minutes as Milan Iloski grabbed the game-winner in the 67th minute, his first score of the campaign. The Bruins played well in the opening half against the Cardinal, outshooting Sun. 28 at Oregon State P12N 2 p.m. the home team 5-1, but gave up three goals in the second half. November STARTING STRONG Thu. 1 California P12N 7 p.m. The Bruins have routinely been the better team in the opening 45 minutes this season, holding the opposition scoreless in the first half in eight of nine games this season. UCLA meanwhile has scored six first half goals, outscoring its opponents 6-3 on aggregate Sun. 4 Stanford P12N 4 p.m. in the first 45. Thu. 8 San Diego State P12N 8 p.m. WINNING THE SHOTS BATTLE Thanks in part to a strong possession game, UCLA has consistently won the shots battle against its opponents this year. The UCLA ON SOCIAL MEDIA Bruins outshot their opponent in the first seven games of the year, and for the season have a 112-70 edge in total shots, which translates to nearly an advantage of nearly five shots per game (12.4 to 7.8). Men’s Soccer Instagram: @UCLAMSoccer WALLIS ANNENBERG STADIUM OPENS FOR 2018 SEASON Men’s Soccer Facebook: /UCLAMSoccer After playing home games at Drake Stadium from 2000-17, the UCLA soccer teams have moved into a new home, Wallis UCLA Athletics Twitter: @UCLAAthletics Annenberg Stadium. The stadium, which seats 2,145, is located at the previously-named North Athletic Field, where UCLA played selected home games from 1967-99. The stadium was made possible thanks to a $5 million lead gift from the Annenberg UCLA Athletics Instagram: @UCLAAthletics Foundation. The just-completed first phase of the stadium project includes grandstands and a press box on the west side, a Daktronics LED video board and Musco Sports lighting. Future phases of the stadium project may include expanded seating, a #GoBruins training room, student-athlete locker room, coaches’ locker rooms, meeting spaces, ticketing space, and a new press box. KAMARA FILLS THE NET Kamara has been a standout offensive performer in his debut Division I season, scoring four goals in the team’s first four games. Though he hasn’t found the back fo the net in the five games since, he has been a menacing presence in the final third, finishing as the team’s leading shot-taker in two of those contests and continually drawing defensive attention towards him. His debut Division I goal at Coastal Carolina, a moonshot chip over the keeper, was the No. 2 play on that night’s Sportscenter Top-10. Kamara led Tyler Junior College to back-to-back national titles, scoring 70 goals in 48 games, including a sophomore campaign that saw him score in every game (he had 48 overall in 22 contests) while winning NJCAA National Player of the Year honors. AMAYA GETTING IN A GROOVE Hampered by a preseason injury early in the year, freshman midfielder Frankie Amaya has started to flash his potential as the 2018 season enters its second month. The Santa Ana native received a call-up the U.S. U-20 Men’s National Team last month, joining the squad for the U-20 MNT Invitational tournament at the IMG Academy in Bradenton from Sept. 7-11. He has started the last four games since re-joining the Bruins, including a standout effort at UC Santa Barbara that saw him score his first collegiate goal and play a full 90 minutes for the first time this season. 2018 UCLA MEN’S SOCCER UNITED SOCCER COACHES POLL (10/2) FORMER BRUIN DEFENDER CANNON RECALLED TO USMNT FC Dallas right back Reggie Cannon, who spent the 2016 season at UCLA, received a call-up this week to the US Men’s National Team for the upcoming Kickoff Series against Peru and Colombia. This is Cannon’s first appearance with the senior national team RK TEAM (1st place votes) PRVS. RECORD after previously playing on the U-17 and U-19 squads. The Grapevine, Tex. Native was a standout for UCLA as a freshman in 2016, 1 Wake Forest (26) 1 10-0-0 starting in all 20 matches and making the College Soccer News All-Freshman Third Team. He leads FC Dallas in both starts (30) 2 Indiana (1) 2 9-1-0 and minutes (2,651) this season. 3 North Carolina 3 7-1-0 HUNDLEY UNFAZED IN FRESHMAN SEASON 4 Kentucky (1) 7 8-0-1 In his true freshman season, Matt Hundley leads the team and is first in the Pac-12 among freshman with 10 points so far this 5 Denver 4 8-0-2 year. Nationally, he is one of just 15 freshmen with 10 points and only three freshman players have more assists than his four. 6 Louisville 6 6-1-2 The Littleton, Colo. native has a point in three of his last five games. With five points, Hundley led UCLA to a 4-0 win at Coastal 7 Air Force 8 10-1-0 Carolina on opening day.
