TROUBLE & LOVE - LONG-AWAITED FIRST ALBUM IN FOUR YEARS TO BE RELEASED JUNE 10th

“…whatever you are doing I guarantee you’ll stop and listen to every word.” - MOJO

Nashville, TN - Acclaimed singer-songwriter Mary Gauthier has announced tour dates in support of her upcoming release Trouble & Love due out June 10th. Highlights include stops in Boston, New York, Seattle and Portland as well as festivals including Roots On The River (Bellows Falls, VT) and The Kate Wolf Memorial Festival (Laytonville, CA). A Louisiana-native turned Nashville resident, Gauthier’s songs have been praised by The New York Times, Rolling Stone, Los Angeles Times, NPR, Entertainment Weekly and more.

Trouble & Love, her first studio album in four years, is an intensely personal album about heartbreak, but more importantly transformation and growth. Gauthier is a proven master in translating the deepest emotion into song and the eight songs on Trouble & Love were carefully selected from over 30 she had written. Collaborating with co-producer Patrick Granado, Gauthier’s vision in the studio was to create a feel that was as real and vulnerable as the emotion in the songs themselves, and this album was tracked live in one room without headphones or pro tools. Gauthier surrounded herself with a small group of her favorite musicians and singers including Viktor Krauss (bass), Guthrie Trapp (guitar), (vocals), The McCrary Sisters (vocals), and (vocals).

Gauthier has had songs covered by a diverse array of artists including Tim McGraw, , and Candi Staton. She’s also landed TV placements in shows including HBO’s Injustice, Showtime’s Banshee and most recently ABC’s Nashville, which featured “How You Learn to Live Alone” off the upcoming Trouble & Love.

Mary Gauthier is a one of the most powerful and genuine songwriters out there today and an honest voice in American music. Trouble & Love is a testament to that.
