EEA Appoints Ethereum Foundation’s Aya Miyaguchi
to the EEA Board and Launches Mainnet Initiative
We recently announced the addition of a newly appointed Board member, Ethereum Foundation’s Aya Miyaguchi (shown right), and the formation of the EEA Mainnet Initiative. As a member of the EEA Board of Directors, Aya will take part in overseeing the organization's vision and initiatives. The Mainnet Initiative is a technical working group that will provide a venue for interactions and collaboration between the EEA’s members and those working directly on the Ethereum mainnet’s technology and ongoing advances. This working group will strive to ensure that Ethereum, like the internet, will work for all.

Fintech Innovator Crowdz Raises $5.5M to Launch 1st Global Invoice Exchange
EEA member Crowdz has recently announced that they have closed on an investment round of $5.5 million to launch the banking industry's first global, blockchain-based Invoice Exchange™, which allows companies of all sizes to automatically digitize invoices, speed up invoice-payment collections, accelerate the cash-conversion cycle, and automatically associate orders, invoices, and payments with one another. The round was led by Barclays Bank and BOLD Capital Partners, with additional investments coming from TFX Capital Partners, Techstars Ventures, and First Derivatives. The funds will be used for product development, marketing, and sales, as well as key team hires. Learn more here.

The EEA was proud to support BuildEth last month, a one-day event for those interested in building and designing decentralized applications, components, and protocols. Presentations covered everything from the basics of Dapp development to issues such as real-world usability, layer 2 solutions for security and scalability, stable coins, network governance, secure smart contract development, decentralized identity, and much more. EEA Special Interest Group Evangelist Ken Fromm was at the show to connect with attendees.
At the beginning of August, Truffle users, fans, and developers from around the world met in Redmond, Washington for TruffleCon. EEA Board Member and Token Taxonomy Initiative Chair Marley Gray spoke about demystifying tokens and the standardization of digital assets. The EEA also had a booth to meet attendees.
