THURSDAYS 10 Beginning March 6 Building on the success of the ﬁrst season, Season 2 of CTV’s original crime drama MOTIVE stays true to form with its signature teaser, introducing the audience to both the killer and the victim at the start of each episode. It’s a unique twist that allows the viewer to actively follow along with the show and the detectives, as they put the pieces together to solve the ‘whydunit’ rather than the ‘whodunit.’ Season 2 brings 13 exciting new cases, with more complicated killers and intricate crime scenes.

Homicide detective Angie Flynn (Kristin Lehman) is as determined as ever, and her pursuit for justice never falters. Her partner, Detective Oscar Vega (Louis Ferreira), continues to be her rock with his no-nonsense attitude and unconditional support. Detective Brian Lucas (Brendan Penny) is no longer the rookie at the station, a role he’s happy to hand over to the very keen and ambitious Ocer Wendy Sung (Valerie Tian). While Lucas maintains his sincere and earnest attitude, he ﬁnds himself challenged as his personal and professional lives start to collide. Sung becomes an enthusiastic new colleague for Lucas, yet this new working relationship causes him to question his own values.

KRISTIN LEHMAN No stranger to series television, Canadian actress Kristin Lehman most recently starred as the campaign advisor in the critically lauded murder mystery THE KILLING. Prior to this, she appeared in DRIVE with Emma Stone, PRISON BREAK with Wentworth Miller, KILLER INSTINCT, TILT, CENTURY CITY with Viola Davis, JUDGING AMY, STRANGE WORLD, and FELICITY with Keri Russell and Scott Speedman. Lehman will also be featured in the upcoming film The Loft with James Marsden and Karl Urban. Additional film credits include Arthur Newman with Colin Firth and Emily Blunt, The Sentinel with Michael Douglas, The Chronicles of Riddick with Vin Diesel and Judi Dench, and The Way of the Gun with Benicio Del Toro. Born and raised in Vancouver, Lehman and her husband are the proud parents of a five-year-old son. Detective Oscar Vega Vega is the calm to Angie’s storm and her impulsiveness pushes his methodical thinking outside of the box when breaking a case. This combination makes them still very much ideal work partners. But the addition of Team Commander Detective Mark Cross not only throws Angie, it creates tension in her relationship with Vega. Vega is committed to his partner, but for someone who values trust above almost all else, this could be a turning point in their relationship.

LOUIS FERREIRA Louis Ferreira is a familiar face on television from his work in many popular series including leading roles in SGU STARGATE UNIVERSE, HIDDEN HILLS, FIGHTING FITZGERALDS, TRINITY, and MISSING. Ferreira also recently completed recurring arcs on the critically lauded BREAK- ING BAD, NCIS, PRIMEVAL: NEW WORLD, and The L.A. COMPLEX, in addition to guest starring on ROOKIE BLUE. His ﬁlm work includes roles in Shooter with Mark Wahlberg, the Zach Snyder classic Dawn of the Dead, and in the iconic Canadian ﬁlm Blood and Donuts. He has had the pleasure of working with the likes of Peter Segal, John Wells, Gary David Goldberg, Stephen Bochco, and Canadian directors David Cronenberg and Nicholas Campbell. Ferreira won rave reviews for his portrayal of “The Donald” in Trump Unauthorized, and was one of the leads in the acclaimed mini-series ANDROMEDA STRAIN. He was featured as David Maysles in HBO’s GREY GARDENS with Jessica Lange and Drew Barrymore. Ferreira won a 2008 Gemini Award for Leading Actor for his chilling portrayal of serial killer Ray Prager in DURHAM COUNTY, and was a Gemini Award-nominee in 2010 for his portrayal of Col. Young in SGU STARGATE UNIVERSE. Detective Brian Lucas Lucas may no longer be the rookie of the department, but his eagerness and enthusiasm are still tangible. He uses this drive to his advantage, earning the trust of witnesses, leaving no detail overlooked, and being recognized as one of the hardest-working detectives at the station. But with his dedication to his job and the expectations of his young wife to juggle, the pressures begin to mount for Lucas. Long days and nights spent at work can take a toll on a personal life, especially when a cute female o cer joins the team. Lucas’ career may be in an upswing, but at what cost?

BRENDAN PENNY Born in Ottawa, Brendan Penny’s starring roles include the series THE ASSISTANTS and CTV’s WHISTLER. Among his recent projects are the mini-series RING OF FIRE, web series THE TRUE HEROINES, and the upcoming feature film The Virginian, in which Penny stars opposite Ron Pearlman and Trace Adkins. Penny has guest-starred on numerous television series including THE KILLING, FLASHPOINT, SUPERNATURAL, and THE L WORD. Penny currently resides in Tofino, B.C. with his family. Dr. Betty Rogers Worldly and stunning, Dr. Rogers can make the most out of any situation, bringing warmth and humanity to even the grimmest job. As medical examiner, her quirky sense of humour and overall bluntness are assets when dealing with the dead. And as far as dealing with the living goes, she maintains close relationships with the rest of the team. A smart and observant listener, and never one to judge, her opinions are respected and valued by everyone. As Angie struggles to work with Cross, Dr. Rogers provides a shoulder to lean on. And when Dr. Rogers experiences her own challenges around the death of someone she cares for, she finds her job hits closer to home than ever before.

LAUREN HOLLY Holly’s breakthrough motion picture performance came in the box-o ce smash, Dumb and Dumber, with Jim Carrey and Je Daniels, followed by glowing reviews for her performance in the Edward Burns drama No Looking Back. Her numerous film credits include Oliver Stone’s Any Given Sunday, with Al Pacino, Cameron Diaz, and Jamie Foxx, Sydney Pollack’s Sabrina, starring Harrison Ford, the action- drama Turbulence, co-starring Ray Liotta, and Beautiful Girls. Lauren Holly boasts three seasons as Director Jenny Shepard in the drama series NCIS and starred as plastic surgeon Jeremy Hanlon on David E. Kelley’s Emmy® Award-nominated drama, CHICAGO HOPE. Her work on the series marked her second project with Kelley, following their successful collaboration on the critically acclaimed, Emmy Award-winning series, PICKET FENCES. Additional film credits include a lead role in Dragon: The Bruce Lee Story, and feature roles in A Smile Like Yours, The Adventures of Ford Fairlane, Down Periscope, Entropy, and The Last Producer, starring and directed by Burt Reynolds. Holly can also be seen this year in Sean McNamara’s (Soul Surfer) upcoming features Field of Lost Shoes and Hoovey. Sergeant Mark Cross Sergeant Cross joins the homicide department as Team Commander and brings with him no shortage of drama. He’s confident, ambitious, and charismatic – and his looks don’t go unnoticed, especially by Dr. Rogers, who quickly nicknames him “Sgt. Handsome.” Not everyone is thrilled that Cross is Boyd’s replacement, especially Angie. The two are linked by a mysterious secret from their past that impacted both their professional and personal lives. Working together again – after more than 10 years – proves to be a daily challenge. Prior to joining the homicide department, Cross completed a two-year undercover mission, sacrificing his personal life for the job. It’s this commitment that makes him a much more “hands on” Team Commander than Boyd. Whether the other detectives can get used to that is another story.

WARREN CHRISTIE Born in Belfast, Northern Ireland, Warren Christie spent most of his childhood in London, ON. It was during his years playing college football that Christie developed his love for performing and decided to pursue it as a career, resulting in a move to Vancouver. Christie’s lead role on OCTOBER ROAD led to additional work on several U.S. pilots and series, including the series lead role in THE PRINCE OF MOTOR CITY, a recurring role on HAPPY TOWN, and a series lead role in ALPHAS. On the big screen, Christie starred in Apollo 18, and went on to play opposite Reese Witherspoon and Chris Pine in the feature This Means War. Christie also stars in the upcoming Hallmark Channel original movie THE COLOR OF RAIN with Lacey Chabert. O cer Wendy Sung O cer Wendy Sung joins the team shortly after passing her six-month probationary period. As the eager rookie, she has a healthy appetite for learning and experiencing as much as she can, demonstrated by her strong work ethic. She wants to know all there is to know about the force and isn’t afraid to get her hands dirty or speak her mind. Becoming a police o cer is a goal Sung is happy to have achieved, although not everyone feels the same. When she told her parents she was going into “law,” they expected her to pursue a career as a lawyer, leading to an estranged relationship with them. As the new kid, Sung knows that she can learn a lot from Angie, but her commitment to protocol and her “by-the-book” process is often at odds with Angie’s more instinctual approach to an investigation.

VALERIE TIAN Valerie Tian has been working in film and television since she was 12-years-old. She received her first big break when cast in the recurring role of Claire Rodgers on the series BLACK SASH. Since then, Tian has been featured in many celebrated films including the Oscar®-winning Juno, Words and Pictures, A.C.O.D, 21 Jump Street, Charlie St. Cloud, The Moth Diaries, Percy Jackson & the Lightning Thief, Jennifer’s Body, Dim Sum Funeral, Fantastic 4: Rise of the Silver Surfer, Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants, and Bob the Butler. The Burrard Hotel (Episode 201): The Burrard first opened in 1956 as the Burrard Motor Inn. Its Woodward’s Building (Episode 211): Founded by Charles A.
