In addition to getting to visit parks in a different culture than we see here, it is also a great opportunity to spend time with fellow enthusiasts and grow friendships while enjoying our common interests. When Scandinavia Sojourn was announced for the summer of 2011, I knew it was a trip I could not miss. Since the 2009 trip was my first trip to Europe I thought that there was no way the over- all experience could be better in Scandinavia. I was wrong. We landed in Helsinki, Finland around 1300 the day before we were required to be at the hotel to meet with the group. Helsinki is an interesting city and fairly new compared to many cities in Europe. Walking around the city you can see the Russian influence in the city’s architecture. In fact, many movies during the cold war would use Helsinki to shoot scenes that are supposed to be set in the Soviet Union. After making our way to the Crowne Plaza Hotel and getting a quick lunch at the hotel restaurant we decided to spend the remaining time that afternoon checking out some of the sites around our hotel. Some of these sites included the Temppeliaukio Church inside of a rock formation, the train station, Routatientori Square and National Theater, and a couple of the city’s art museums.

Record ride revenue at many fairs, big, new events on the schedule, 2014 Fair & multi-year contract extensions, refurbishment projects and new ride purchases made 2014 a very Festival route update exciting year. Numbers and Causes of Fatalities According to the most recent report of the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), between 1987 and 2000 there were 51 amusement park ride fatalities in the United States. This is a very, very small number. As discussed below, many common activities are more likely to cause fatalities. The total of 51 fatalities itself is misleading as an indication of ride safety. Of these 51 fatalities, about one-third were due to rider error and another 10 percent were due to pre-existing medical conditions of the riders. In order to understand the data, the 51 fatalities are individually listed below. There are links to the press articles describing the accidents. This paper assigns causes to the fatalities as falling into one or more of eight categories. This administrative regulation establishes safety guidelines for the operation and inspection of amusement rides or attrac- tions and establishes the initial safety inspection fees. Section 1. Definitions. (1) "Air inflatable device" means an object that is filled with air by an electric motor-driven blower. (2) "Dark ride" means an amusement ride or amusement attraction enclosed and with the lights turned off during the duration of the ride, and is a nonmechanized self-propelled amuse- ment. (3) "Go-cart facility" means an amusement ride or amusement attraction that carries a rider on a fixed path and includes the vehicle that travels the fixed path. (4) "Inspection fee" means a fee required to be paid to operate any amusement ride or amusement attraction in Kentucky. (5) "Kiddie ride" means an amusement ride or amusement attraction that has a height re- quirement of forty-two (42) inches or less to ride. (6) "Major ride" means any ride that: (a) Has height requirement of forty-three (43) inches or greater to ride; and (b) Does not have a specific fee established for it in Section 2 of this administrative regula- tion.

The exciting, interactive exhibition is produced in conjunction with Universal Parks & Resorts. Visitors of all ages are immersed into 20,000 square feet of settings inspired by the groundbreaking film franchise, Jurassic World from Universal Pictures and Amblin Entertainment. “We are delighted to launch in Dallas, and to bring this Exhibition to cities across the U.S. and Canada,” said Stephen Shaw, Founder and Co-President of Round Room Live. “Families will be amazed and beyond entertained by this incredible experience.” Jurassic World: The Exhibition The exhibition allows visitors to walk through the world-famous “Jurassic World” gates. There they can encounter life-sized dinosaurs and explore richly themed environments.
