PAGES 2-3 BY SHANTIL SIAPERAS, MACO COMMUNICATIONS DIRECTOR UPCOMING INTERIM COMMITTEE The 66th Legislative Session officially came to a close on the afternoon of Thursday, April MEETINGS .................................... PAGE 3 25th, after 87 days, 3,324 bill draft requests, 1,309 introduced bills, and 270,131 Floor Votes. MACO LEGISLATION MACO BILLS: PASSED .......... PAGES 3-4 The Session adjourned without much flare. First the Senate motioned and received a successful vote to Sine Die, followed by the House, who completed the final vote on the MACO BILLS: DEAD ............. PAGES 3-4 budget bill (HB 2) as well as its two companion bills: SB 352 (Generally revise laws related MACO BILLS: NOT INTRO’D .... PAGE 6 to the state budget); and HB 715 (Generally revise laws related to state finance and provide for fiscal studies). Both bills were passed WITHOUT touching the Entitlement SUBJECT-SPECIFIC LISTS: Share. We were successful in maneuvering around the hit this session, but the discussions BILLS THAT PASSED & will continue over the Interim, and we fully expect the struggle between facts and a EFFECTIVE DATES preconceived narrative of some sort to continue next session. The House and Senate leadership decide who will be on the interim JUSTICE & PUBLIC committee; therefore, the members of the interim committees serve one 20-month term.
