Rosie Simoes Grand Prix FEI Champion under age 25. Rosie has been coaching at the prestigious Dressageforkids.org in Wellington this past winter and comes to us highly recommended by, Lendon Gray, their renowned program director. Rosie is an exceptional instructor committed to sharing competitive dressage with juniors.

Rosie Julian-Simoes has been riding since a very young age, under the watchful eye of her mother and FEI trainer, Julie Julian. Now 23, Rosie is a Grand Prix competitor and an active member of the competitive dressage community. She and her mother work out of Flying Dutchman farm in Barrington Hills, Illinois, where Rosie continues to train to the top levels. Rosie spends her winters in Wellington FL competing, training and teaching. This past winter Rosie has been in training with US dressage Team coach Debbie McDonald and attends clinics regularly with US young coach Christine Traurig.

Rosie is a USDF bronze, silver, and gold medalist and has won multiple regional championships, along with other placings and year-end awards through USDF and local organization, IDCTA. Rosie has competed at the North American Championships 3 times total, as a junior (ages 14-18) and a young rider (ages 16-21). At her last NAYC in 2014, she finished 7th individually and 5th in the freestyle. In 2015 Rosie was 1 of 4 chosen to participate in the Dressage Foundation's International Dream Program, traveling to Aachen, Germany to watch the European Dressage Championships. This unique opportunity allowed participants to speak to the top riders, judges, and trainers of the sport while being spectating some of the best the sport has to offer at the highest level. Additionally, in 2016, Rosie was 1 of 2 dressage riders chosen to participate in the Hannoveraner Verband's Rider Exchange Program. This allowed Rosie to spend 2 months riding and preparing young horses for the Verden Auction in Verden, Germany as an assistant rider. During this time she was able to develop as a rider and trainer while working at the Verband. Along with competing, Rosie loves participating in educational programs and clinics with her horses. She is a long-time participant in Lendon Grey’s Dressage4Kids programs and has spent the last two winters donating her time as an instructor at the D4K Winter Intensive Program in Wellington, Florida.

In 2017 Rosie began riding Rankrado, a Grand Prix horse purchase by a group of investors for her to continue her competitive career. Since then the two have won a USDF/GAIG Regional Championship at I-1 in a field of 30 horses, competed in a US Dressage Finals, and competed at the 2018 invitational Festival of Champions in the Under 25 Grand Prix, finishing 9th nationally. The pair continue to strengthen as they compete in international CDI competitions and have goals to compete in the 2019 Festival of Champions.

Grace and Nathan Zachar

“Siblings Grace and Nathan Zachar competed in the Youth World Championship for the Modern Pentathlon in Prague, Czech Republic, and in the Juniors World Championship in Hungary in 2017. Grace was the highest scoring American girl in both competitions, while Nathan also did well. Following Europe, Nathan competed in Mexico for the Pan American Youth Olympic Games Qualifier. He finished second among the American men and is looking forward to his next opportunity to try to qualify for the games. This will be the next youth world championships in Portugal. Both Brace and Nathan have their Hunt colors and have been riding with the Hunt, Pony Club, Club, and the Riding Club of Barrington Hills while growing up. The Hunt has been instrumental in not only teaching them how to ride, but in building the confidence needed to take performance horses you have never ridden before and having them to perform for you. Riding in Modern Pentathlon is supposed to be a test of bravery, so they stack the odds against you. They put you on an unfamiliar course with an unfamiliar horse and aggressive course times. They want to see if you have what it takes. It is a fast-paced adrenaline-packed adventure”. From: Quintessential Barrington Nov. 2017

Recent updates: Nathan is currently a Senior at Barrington High School, In 2018: “Nathan Zachar won the USAP National Qualifier #3 with 1,350 points. Nathan won the fencing event and tied for first with a perfect score in the riding event”. https://www.teamusa.org/USA-Modern-Pentathlon/Features/2018/January/15/Nathan-Zachar- Wins-National-Qualifier-3
