After attending The USDAN Center for Creative and Performing Arts as a child, Marissa knew early on that she wanted to spend the rest of her life calling the theatre her home away from home. Now that she has graduated from both The Actor’s Workshop of Ithaca (AWI) Sanford Meisner Technique Program and Ithaca College with a Bachelor of Science in Integrated Marketing Communications, Marissa is continuing to marry her two areas of expertise and continue her artistic endeavors right here in Ithaca! Production, marketing and teaching credits include: House Manager and Staff Member at The Kitchen Theatre, Production Manager and Teaching Assistant for AWI, Assistant Company Manager and Marketing Director for Hope on Stage at The Hangar Theatre, Marketing Consultant for Ithaca Fringe, along with various freelance film production projects. Upcoming acting credits include Tiny Beautiful Things at The Hangar Theatre, feature film, Stationed at Home and short film, The End of A Thing. Equally as important, Marissa LOVES Hershey chocolate bars. A lot. Adara Alston is delighted to be back in the 1MPF after being involved in the first festival two years at KTC. Her recent local credits include Emmett and Ella: A Doggone Mystery (Louella) with Rachel Lampert's Fitz&Startz Productions, Katrina: A New Musical (Larinda) with Walking on Water Productions, and Curved (Chloe) with Homecoming Players (which were all in the Kitchen Sink Series) and Pericle: Prince of Tyre (Goddess Diane) with Ithaca Shakespeare Company. Some of her other credits include Doubt: A Parable (Mrs. Muller) with Franklin Stage Company, Twelve Angry Jurors (Juror Eight) with Elmira Little Theatre, Shrek the Musical (Donkey) with Afton Community Theatre, and A Midsummer Night's Dream (Hippolyta) with Cider Mill Playhouse. She performs as a drummer and Drum Major in Broome County Celtic Pipes & Drums. When not drumming or on stage, her B.S. from Cornell University allows her the opportunity to design online courses... for Cornell. Before recent events, she was scheduled to perform this spring/summer with Hangar Theatre in Urinetown and with Cherry Arts in Rosa and Blanca. Tyree Cobbins is a young actor in both the Binghamton and Ithaca area. After graduating from college where he majored in theater, Tyree found his way to The Actors Workshop of Ithaca. He would complete the six semester Meisner technique workshop. Then the class instructor asked Tyree to be a teacher's assistant to his class. When he's not writing or acting Tyree takes his performance skills to the mat as a professional wrestler. He loves to create and tell stories. Tyree is absolutely honored to be participating in this year's One Minute Play Festival. Binaifer Dabu is grateful to “zoom” in and join the KTC’s - 1 Minute Play Festival . She is a storyteller who has performed in India, Boston, Off-Broadway (Lion Theatre), and in Syracuse with a variety of theatre companies, independent film projects and commercials. She is the recipient of multiple State and Regional level awards, including The Times of India award. Binaifer recently performed in an immersive theater piece - “Marie and the Nutcracker Prince” (Tsarina Alyx), and Redhouse’s production of “Romeo & Juliet” (Nurse). Some favorite roles: “A Midsummer Night’s Dream” (Puck); “August Osage County” (Violet); “The Elephant Man” (Mrs. Kendall); “Importance of Being Earnest” (Lady Bracknell); “Twelfth Night” (Olivia); “A Doll’s House” (Nora). Inspired by the artistic support of Navroz – Behzad – Navzad, she dedicates each performance to the celebration of live theater. Chris Dawson was a teacher for 20 years and then switched careers. He is now a writer for Cornell's College of Engineering. He discovered acting after he turned 50. This is his third One-Minute Play Festival.
