Narrative Features Competition Jury: Jordan Hoffman reviews and writes about movies regularly for Film.com, the New York Daily News, ScreenCrush, and The Times of Israel. Other work has appeared in PopularMechanics.com, Vulture.com, Badass Digest, BBC Culture, and VanityFair.com. He also writes a regular column for StarTrek.com called One Trek Mind. Prior to a career as a critic, Hoffman produced two independent films you likely didn't see. He is a graduate of New York University's Tisch School of Arts and is on Twitter as @JHoffman. Ryan O’Nan is an award-winning director, actor, screenwriter, and playwright, whose feature directorial debut Brooklyn Brothers Beat the Best premiered at the 2011 Toronto International Film Festival and was released theatrically in the US, Ireland, UK, and France in 2012 to rave reviews. Brooklyn Brothers won the Audience Award at FFF in 2012. Recent screen appearances include The Iceman with Michael Shannon, Eat Pray Love with Julia Roberts, The Frozen Ground with Nicolas Cage, and Chu and Blossom with Melanie Lynskey, which he also co-wrote and co-produced. Andrea Roa’s independent film production credits include films by Jim Jarmusch, John Waters, Stephen Soderbergh, Ramin Bahrani, and work across the United States and South America. She recently received a producing fellowship from IFP for CineMart/Rotterdam International Film Festival. Her first feature Booster premiered in competition at SXSW and at the Deauville Film Festival; her next, by Laurie Collyer (Sherrybaby), is the Florida-set Sunlight Jr., which stars Naomi Watts and Matt Dillon and premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival. Roa most recently produced Joe Swanberg's acclaimed Drinking Buddies. She is currently a 2014 Independent Spirit "Producer of the Year" award nominee. Narrative and Animated Shorts Competition Jury: Meira Blaustein is the Co-Founder/Executive Director/Programmer of the Woodstock Film Festival, named among the top 50 most respected and influential film festivals in the world. She has over twenty years of experience in filmmaking, writing, producing, and directing numerous projects including her full-length documentary For Love of Julian. She is currently in development on a number of feature length films. In addition to her work as a freelance writer and blogger, she has served as juror, speaker, mentor, workshop leader and panelist at a variety of film festivals and special events in Norway, England, the Faroe Islands, Texas, Utah, and New York. Blaustein is also an advisory board member of the Baja International Film Festival. Debra McClutchy is VP of Home Entertainment Production & Creative at Oscilloscope Pictures, a distribution company founded by Adam Yauch of the Beastie Boys. She produces special edition DVD/BD releases as well as online extra feature content working closely with directors such as Lotfy Nathan (12 O’clock Boys), Martha Shane and Lana Wilson (After Tiller), Andrew Dosunmu (Mother of George), Lynne Ramsay (We Need to Talk About Kevin), Michel Gondry (Thorn in the Heart), Spike Jonze (Tell Them Anything You Want), Oren Moverman (The Messenger), Marshall Curry (If a Tree Falls), and more. Previously, she was a producer for The Criterion Collection. She began her career in documentary television in San Francisco and New York City. She lives in Brooklyn. Shawn Wines is a filmmaker based in Los Angeles. His short film “High Maintenance” won a Student Academy Award and a Special Jury Award for Comedy at FFF 2012, and his previous work as a writer, director, editor, and producer has screened at film festivals around the world. His short “Upstairs” has been viewed more than three million times online and was developed as a pilot for Fox and Warner Bros TV. Fox gave Shawn a blind commitment for a second pilot, which led to writing his half hour comedy Fives. He is also attached to direct his feature script Too Cool. Shawn is a graduate of the Columbia University film program and has previously worked at Late Night With Conan O'Brien, As the World Turns, Mother Productions, Plum TV, and the commercial production company Hungry Man, as well as on the feature films Rush Hour 3, Get Smart, Cocaine Cowboys, and 3 Backyards. Documentary Competition Jury: Kim Kalyka has been with IFC Films nearly since its inception, having joined in 2002. She’s managed exhibitor relations and bookings for every feature IFC Films, Sundance Selects, and IFC Midnight has released since My Big Fat Greek Wedding—a catalog of over 550 features over the last twelve years, including Che, Cave of Forgotten Dreams, Frances Ha, Blue is The Warmest Color, and the upcoming The Trip To Italy and Boyhood. Prior to joining IFC, Kim managed exhibitor relations at Miramax Films, handling releases such as Amelie, Spy Kids, and Bridget Jones’s Diary. Kim also worked in exhibition for more years than she’d like to acknowledge, but she admits to having a pretty well-rounded background, including a degree in film production from NYU. Paul Rachman began his film career as one of the of the industry's top music video directors at Propaganda Films in Los Angeles where he worked with Alice in Chains, Roger Waters, Kiss, Joan Jett, Pantera, The Replacements, and the Pearl Jam/Soundgarden collaboration Temple of the Dog. By 1995 he had directed several award winning short films, the award winning “Drive Baby Drive,” and a series of collaborations with NPR storyteller Joe Frank (“Memories,” “The Hitchhiker,” “The Perfect Woman,” “Jilted Lover”). Paul made his feature directorial debut in 2000 with Four Dogs Playing Poker, released by Showtime and Warner Home Video. In 2006 his seminal punk documentary American Hardcore premiered at the Sundance Film Festival and was acquired and theatrically released by Sony Pictures Classics. His second feature documentary Lost Rockers, about eight musical artists from different eras who were all on the cusp of super stardom only to fall forgotten through the cracks of music history, will be released in 2015. Paul is also one of the co-founders of the Slamdance Film Festival. Chris White is the Director of Business Affairs and Delivery at Magnolia Pictures/Magnet Releasing, handling business and legal administration as well as delivery, documentation, and promo material negotiation for all titles. His work involves interfacing with producers, sales agents, filmmakers, and every department at Magnolia in order to obtain the materials necessary to release all of Magnolia's films. He has handled efforts on such award-winning documentaries as Blackfish, Man on Wire, and Jiro Dreams of Sushi. Prior to working at Magnolia, Chris worked at HDNet Films under the production executives handling post-production related issues.
