Abstract Four new specics, 7brnodoxa dubicanella sp, n., T paraleptqpalta gp. n., Empalactis (E.)ponomarenkoae sp. n. and tfypatima teraniotoi sp. n., assigned to the gelechiid tribe Chelariini, are described from Japan with figures of adults and genitalia.

Key words Ge}echiidae, Che]ariini, 7brnodoxa, Enrpalactis, F()vatima, new species, Japan.

Introduction irrorated with ocherous; mid tarsus with ocherous apical

ring on each segment; hind tibia heavily irrorated with The gelechiid tribe Chelariini contains globally 24 genera pale ocherous, suffused dorsally with whitish hairs; hind and 217 species (Ponomarenko, 2009). In Japan, 49 species tarsus heavily irrorated with pale ocherous, with pale are unidentified arc rccorded , among which included 7 ocherous apical ring on each segment. Forewing elongate, species of the tribe Chelariini (Jinbo, 2004-2012; Ueda, Ml stalked with R4+5; whitish, irregularly tinged with 2010and2011). pale brownish gray, scattered with fuscous scalcs; a fuscous In the course of taxonomic study ofthe Japanege Chelariini, dot on costa at base; a fuscous dot on subcosta at near I have found 4 new species belonging to the genera base; costa edged with fuscous scales from base to 1f6; a 7bmodoxa Meyrick, 1921, Empalactis Meyrick, 1925 and narrow, elongate fuscous mark occupying median 5th of H}patima HUbner, 1825 from Japan. in this paper I describe costa; a large obscure oval pale fuscous suffusion befbre them with figures of the adults and genitalia of both sexes. middle of cell; 4 small pale fuscous marks on costa from apical 1/3 to apex at regular intervals; a 1arge obscure pale The terminology of the is mainly derived frem genitalia fuscousovalsuffUsionneartornus;ciliabasalhalfocherous, Ueda(2005).Theexaminedmaterialsarcdepositedinthe remainder pale fuscous with 3 whitish gray shades at collection of the Entomological Laboratory, Osaka regularintervals.Hindwingpaleocherous;ciliapalegray Prefecture University, Sakai and Systematic (OPU) with ocherous base.
