Over recent weeks, Matt has continued to report potholes to the Council, and he's pleased to inform you that many have been repaired. In March the Government announced a further £305,589 of funding to Bedford Borough Council to repair roads badly affected by recent winter weather. This is on top of the £219,000 already allocated through the Pothole Action Fund for this year. The Council also announced a £1 million funding boost for roads. Matt said: "With the amount of funding committed to improving roads, there can be no excuses for inaction and the poor conditions of roads in . Thank you to all those who have continued to alert me to potholes, and I would encourage you to let me know of any more in your area, or report these directly to the Council for repair at [email protected]” Matt is also concerned with the quality of recent repairs, and is pressuring the Council for improvement. Matt said: "While I am delighted that many of the potholes have been fixed, I've noticed that some are starting to reappear. It is a waste of taxpayers money for these to be repaired again and would urge the Council to take more care.

DAVID WILSON UPDATE Matt and Gianni have been working extremely hard to help residents on the David Wilson estate. They recently met residents to learn more about their issues and concerns and have since acted upon that feedback. They spoke to the Regional Managing Director and his team, and can report: Potholes and kerb maintenance issues have been addressed; missing street nameplates have been installed; the surfacing of Martell Drive will be carried out once the Barratt site is completed later this year. We have been assured that the Commercial team is working closely with Barratts to monitor progress and will arrange the works to follow on as soon as possible. Other issues have also been reported to David Wilson including faulty street-lighting, rubbish and litter, particularly in the streams, and the maintenance of the grass and planted areas. Matt said: "It is incredibly important that David Wilson is held to account and I am doing this on behalf of residents. It is encouraging that the developer has been responsive to the needs of residents, and I hope that this can continue." Conservatives working for you all year round
