CAUGHT IN THE ACT--The Royals were caught stealing in their only attempt on Sunday, just the third game in the last 15 that Kansas City didn’t record a theft, totaling 22 steals in that span...Jarrod Dyson, aka mrzoombiya on Twitter, became the first Royal in a decade to steal at least 30 bases in consecutive seasons when he pilfered a bag on Saturday night...the last Royal with at least 30 thefts in consecutive years was Carlos Beltran, who did it for three straight seasons from 2001-03...the theft by Dice upped Kansas City’s Major League leading steal total to 133, 11 more than the N.L. leading Brewers and 15 up on A.L. runner-up Texas...the Royals are also second in the Majors in stolen base success with an 83.1 rate, trailing only Boston at 85.4, though KC has attempted 30 more thefts...Alcides Escobar is 18-for-18 in thefts, which has established a single-season consecutive steal record for the Royals, breaking the 16 straight by Gary Thurman in 1989...the club record for consecutive steals over multiple seasons is held by Beltran with 33, while Escobar is currently 25-for-25 dating back to last year.
