It is the official destination marketing agency for the Belfast City Region, dedicated to promoting Belfast as a city break, business events and cruise ship destination. It is also responsible for the operation of three gateway visitor information centres. Visit Belfast represents more than 500 tourism businesses and services across the industry including accommodation providers, attractions, conference venues and services, tour operators, transport providers, entertainment venues, restaurants and cafes, pubs and clubs and event organisers. As the citys official destination marketing and management company (DMMO) Visit Belfast will play a key role in driving tourism recovery post COVID. Our new business plan, Rebuilding City Tourism 2021-24 sets out a new direction of travel, illustrating a step change in our approach to our marketing and visitor servicing activity, and the generation and measurement of tourism success for the betterment of our businesses, our employees, our residents and our city. The role As business tourism sales manager, you will work as part of an award-winning sales team to promote Belfast and Northern Ireland as a world-class, safe and sustainable events destination. The successful candidate will be responsible for identifying and securing new meetings, events and conference business for Belfast within the GB association, corporate and agency industry segments that help to support economic development, business, research and education objectives for the region. The successful candidate will be responsible for identifying and securing new meetings, events and conference business for Belfast within the GB association, corporate and agency industry segments that help to support economic development, business, research and education objectives for the region. DurDuration:ation: Full time, permanent Reporting to: Head of Business Tourism £32,847 – £44,143 Salary: Salary scale is inclusive of a 20% London market supplement Location: The role will be based in London, working from home but with access to hot desk facilities in central London. (TBC) The role will report to the Head of Business Tourism in Belfast with regular travel across the UK including to Belfast VISIT BELFAST 06 Hours of Work Normal hours of work will be 37.5 hours per week. Working hours are Monday to Friday, 9am to 5.30pm. Staff will be required to be flexible in their hours of work to accommodate travel and business needs. Annual Leave The leave year runs from 1 January to 31 December. Annual leave entitlement is 25 days per year pro rata, with an additional 11 customary public holidays. After 5 years continual service leave entitlement will increase to 30 days per year. Assist the Head of Business Tourism in achieving commercial income generation targets set in the annual business plan. Maximising Visit Belfast partner engagement in the GB market; developing and managing appropriate sales and marketing platforms for partners. 11. Develop a comprehensive CRM (customer relationship management) and pipeline management approach to managing prospective leads and maximising conversion of all sales opportunities. Maintaining client profiles and databases using Visit Belfast’s CRM system. 12. Organise and attend sales calls, exhibitions/ tradeshows, client meetings and events predominately across GB on a regular basis but with occasional travel to Europe and International markets. 13. Organise client site visits and FAM trips in Belfast in order to showcase the city as a prospective destination for GB buyers. Developing a comprehensive understanding of client requirements, event objectives, appropriate venues and suppliers as well as potential competing destinations and potential objections and solutions. 14. Prepare weekly sales reports as requested by the Head of Business Tourism and participate in weekly, monthly and quarterly sales meetings to update the team on activity, leads, sales calls, bids and confirmed business.
