Tu nueva dirección no puede ser más sugestiva. Me alegro de que la travesía haya sido tan agradable para Elsa y los pequeños. En cuanto a mí, no puedo decir que esté tan feliz. La mañana del domingo me encuentra hecho un solterón solitario sin objetivo alguno. Voilà des années qu’ils sont associés à San Francisco dans une affaire prospère de commerce de tableaux, "La galerie Schulse-Eisenstein", quand Martin, au début des années 30, décide de retourner dans son pays. La correspondance entre les deux amis commence le 12 novembre 1932 et s’achèvera le 3 mars 1934. Moins de vingt lettres qui nous racontent à leur manière comment l’Histoire peut s’introduire dans les destins particuliers et les emporter. Un roman écrit comme un journal intime à deux voix : en juillet 1933, les doutes et le malaise de Martin face aux remous du gouvernement allemand font vite place à un antisémitisme que ne tempère plus la moindre trace d'affection. D'une cruauté imparable, sa décision tombe comme une sentence : "Ici en Allemagne, un de ces hommes d'action énergiques, essentiels, est sorti du rang. Et je me rallie à lui." Max ne peut se résoudre à une telle révolution, sentimentale et politique. -

Kathrine Kressmann Taylor or Kressmann Taylor born in Portland, Oregon — July was an American author, known mostly for her Address Unknowna short story written as a series of letters between a Jewish art dealer, living in San Francisco, and his business partner, who Address Unknown returned to Germany in It is credited with exposing, Address Unknown on, the dangers of Nazism to the American public. Kathrine Kressmann moved to San Francisco after graduating from the University of Oregon in and worked as an advertising copywriter. InKressmann married Elliott Taylor, who owned an advertising agency. The editor Whit Burnett and Elliot deemed the Address Unknown "too strong to appear under the name of a woman," and published the work under the name Kressmann Taylor, Address Unknown her first name. Address Unknown used this name professionally for the rest of her life. Foreign publications followed quickly, including a Dutch translation, later confiscated by Nazis, and a German one, published in Moscow. The book was banned in Germany. An indictment of Nazism was also the theme of Taylor's next book, Until Address Unknown Daypublished in InColumbia Pictures turned Address Unknown into a movie. The film director and production designer was William C. The screenplay, written by Herbert Dalmaswas credited also to Kressmann Taylor. In Russian, there was another screenplay by David Greener, Address Unknown it was never filmed.
