Sii. George Joseph, PPK Granites & Crusher Products Pvt. Ltd, Chunangad (PO), Ottapalam Taluk, has filed online application for the Environmental Clearance for the granite building stone quarry project of PPK Granites & Crusher Products Pvt. Ltd having an extent of 2.4374 Hectares of land in Survey Nos. 135 of -Il Village.

After necessary verification done by Member Secretary DEIAA, the application was forwarded to the District Expert Appraisal Committee (DEAC) for further necessary action. DEAC conducted site inspection on 2Il0Ll20I7 and a meeting on 2510112017. The DEAC recommended for issuance of Environmental Clearance for the granite building stone quarry project of PPK Granites & Crusher Products Pvt. Ltd in Survey Nos. 135 of Ambalappara-Il Village of Ottapalam

Taluk in which a buffer distance of more than 100 mtr has been maintained. I

The meeting of DEIAA chaired by the Chairman, DEIAA & District Collector was convened on 09/03/2017 to consider the proposals submitted by DEAC. After discussion of all the

t proposals with the Member Secretary DEIAA and other members present. DEIAA decided to

issue Environmental Clearance to the proponent subject to the general conditions enclosed with this

order plus the specific conditions mentioned below :

1)A Mines manager shall be appointed to control, direct, manage and supervise the Quarrying operations as required under the Mines Act, 1952. 2) Health and welfare measures for the persons employed shall be implemented. I 3)Controlled blasting should be practiced and blasting shall be done only during day time. The mitigative measures for contol of ground vibrations to a.nest the fly rocks and boulders should be implemented.

4)Plantation shall be done which includes a green belt of adequate width around the Mining

Lease area excluding the rocky area, along roads, overburden dumps and non mineralized

area by planting suitable native specious in consultation with the local DFO/Agriculture Department.

S)The drains should be regularly de silted and maintained properly. Check dam and gully checks shall be constructed wherever required to arrest siltation. De siltation

shall also be done every year before the onset of monsoon. , 6)Fencing must be maintained properly all around the lease area. 7)The CSR need redrafting with inclusion of felt needs of the locality. B)Appropriate sign boards should be displayed. 9)The blasting time must be displayed and strictly adhered to. 10)The PPV values must be less than 10 mm/sec.

11)Dust suppression mechanism must be in place.

12)A separate small plot to be maintained in the premise to preserve rare and endemic

species, if any, listed in the biodiversityrassessment.

The proponent Sri. George Joseph, PPK Granites & Crusher Products Pvt. Ltd, Chunangad (PO),,Ottapalam Taluk, Palakkad Distict has remitted the processing charge of Rs.l-,00,000/-

(Rupees One Lakh only) as per Chalan No. KL00668448220L61-7 dt: 22103/20L7, District Treasury Palakkad as one-time processing fee for Environmental Clearance in the name of O/o Member

Secretary, DEIAA (Head of Accout - 1-425-00-501-99). AIso the total amount of CSR activities (of 5 years) is Eight lakh Ninteytwo thousand five hundred rupees which needs to be redrafted as per specific condition No. 7.

The clearance issued will also be subject to full and effective implementation of all the undertakings given in the application form, mitigation measures in the Environment Management Plan in Chapter 7 of the Pre-Feasibility Report and the mining features including progressive mine closure plan as submitted with the application and relied on for grant of this clearance.
