NORTH ROAD SEWER UPGRADE Traffic and Noise Impacts

Typical examples of pipe installation using trench construction

Access and Traffic Impacts Access will be maintained to businesses along the construction route, although there may be instances when access to a particular driveway or road is temporarily restricted. Notification will be provided to residents and businesses in advance of this type of work. There will be lane closures and turning restrictions during the construction period. Dates and times of lane closures will vary.

Work Hours and Noise Work can occur between Monday and Friday from the hours of 7:00 am to 8:00 pm and Saturday between 9:00 am and 6:00 pm. However, there may be times when crews will work extended hours in order to complete certain tasks. To avoid significant impacts to traffic along Lougheed Highway, night work will occur between the T-intersection (where Rochester Street meets North Road) and 110m north of Lougheed Highway. • All work will comply with the City of Burnaby and City of Coquitlam noise bylaws or granted bylaw variances • Crews will attempt to reduce noise impacts

About Liquid Waste Services Metro Vancouver manages liquid waste by operating and maintaining a network of sewer pipes, pumping stations and wastewater treatment plants throughout the Lower Mainland. Thousands of kilometres of pipe and dozens of pumping stations are needed to convey the wastewater from its source to a treatment plant. To maintain this system, improvements are constantly underway.

About Community Engagement At Metro Vancouver we make decisions that impact the 2.5 million residents that live in our region. Metro Vancouver regularly consults with municipalities and the public when initiating major facility or planning processes, capital projects for water, solid waste and sewerage and drainage, and other projects including regional parks and housing. By participating in our engagement opportunities, you can help us make better decisions on projects or plans that affect you and your neighbours. Your input can maximize the benefits of a project, minimize the impacts, and provide new ideas or initiatives for your community.
