ND Club Purchases “Study Break” for Students

Among the areas that dues payments support are the care packages and study breaks the Club purchases for the current students during finals each semester. Before the fall semester finals, our 17 students received an invitation to a study break at Carole Sandner Hall, which included some opportunities to relax during the rigorous final exam period.

As an extension of the University’s Parents Program, the Club has started its own Parents Program. The goal of the Parents Program is to provide a resource for communication and coordination for current and potential parents of Notre Dame students. Through this program, the Club hopes to answer many of the questions parents have when their children embark to or are considering attending Notre Dame. Heading this committee is Dr. Patricia Curtin White, a graduate and also mother of current junior Mary White. Volunteer at College Nights!

Every year, the University has a presence at three local college fairs. All are held in the evening. Unlike nearly every other university, Notre Dame staffs those fairs with local graduates as opposed to university employees. For each of these events, we could use passionate graduates to volunteer their time. The University provides our volunteers with all the statistics needed to answer the frequent questions – all you need is a passion for Notre Dame. This past fall, Club members volunteered at an open house at Salesianum School and a college fair at the University of Delaware. On April 6, 2016, we will volunteer at another college fair at St. Mark’s High School. Also in April, the Club will meet with admitted students and their families to answer any questions they may have. If you are interested in talking about your love for Notre Dame for 2-3 hours to interested high school students and their families, please email our Alumni Schools Chairperson, Jim Bowers ([email protected]).

Mairead Browne (’13), Meredith Viera (’15), and Maggie Bowers (’16) met with prospective students at a college fair at the University of Delaware on October 21, 2014.
