Active BIG Bike Ride 2016

With a focus on leisure, recreational and family cycling, the Active Sunderland BIG Bike Ride offers three alternative rides, providing a route to suit all ages and abilities. This year's BIG Bike Ride will take place on Sunday 12 June. All of the rides will start on the Riverside at St. Peter's near the . The longer 20 and 35 mile rides will use Sunderland's expansive cycle path network visiting many areas across the city. The shorter 5 mile family ride will use the excellent cycle paths from the riverside to Roker and Seaburn.

Entry is online only with an early bird offer available until 29 April 2016.

Active Sunderland BIG Family Fun Run 2016

As well as the BIG Bike Ride, the all new Active Sunder- land BIG Family Fun Run will take place on Saturday 30 April in . There are 1.5km and 3km runs suitable for all ages and abilities, with a free activity programme of entertainment and taster sessions starting at 1.00pm

New Wellness Walking Programme

The Walking for Health Wellness Walking Programe has now been released for dates between 4 April and 30 June. With more walks in more destinations than ever, including Mums on The Move, Nordic Walks for beginners and advanced walkers as well as health walks for everyone, there have never been more opportunities to get involved! Sunderland Tennis League If you play tennis and would like to play some friendly competitive singles, the first round of the brand new Sunderland Tennis League starts soon. Open to men and women of all standards, aged 18+, it's a great way to have some competitive fun. Players are organised into groups of a similar level and arrange their own matches at a mu- tually convenient time between Thursday 14 April and Wednesday 8 June. Any court that suits both players can be used and everyone who completes 3 matches by the half way mark is sent a free can of tennis balls. Why not give it a go?
