Please find enclosed tender documents inviting you to submit a tender for Installation of Severn Canoe Trail marker posts – no. 14 at 14 locations along in .

If you would like to be considered for this contract please submit a completed Schedule of Works, Form of Tender, Anti Collusion Certificate, Contractor’s Competence Questionnaire and Environmental Protection Act 1990 form are signed, dated, scanned and delivered by email to reach us not later than noon on Friday 18th September 2020.

The works are to commence as soon as possible and must be completed by no later than 31st March 2021. The successful tenderer will be invited to attend a planning meeting before commencement of works. Unsuccessful tenderers will be notified by email.

Tender invite – summary

We would like to invite tenders for the following works:

1. Erect no14 marker posts at 14 locations on the riverbank beside the River Severn as it passes through Shropshire. 2. Each marker post is a 2.4m x 200mm x 200mm treated softwood post with a 4-way weather-top. Post to be set in posthole with at least three bags of post-crete. A cross bar to be inserted below ground level into the marker post to help secure post in place. 3. Successful contractor to store marker posts until each location is ready to receive installation. 4. Plaques etc will be attached by Shropshire Wildlife Trust staff. 5. Works schedule to show break down of costs as below:

Please note the following:

1. Installation locations include the following places along the River Severn – Llandrinio, Montford Bridge, Shrewsbury, , Coalport, and Arley. 2. Marker post placement will be phased over the next 6 months aiming for completion by end of March 2021. 3. Marker posts are supplied by Shropshire Wildlife Trust. 4. All consents will be secured in advance of works 5. Post location will be identified during joint site visit and confirmed by relevant landowner and Shropshire Wildlife Trust project manager. 6. Access to the each marker post location will be negotiated by Shropshire Wildlife Trust, may involve off-road travel and lifting. 7. Public relations during operation will be managed by Shropshire Wildlife Trust. 8. River levels may determine timing of works as flood conditions may make access difficult or impossible to some of the proposed locations. 9. The funding for the works is provided by Sport who have oversight of the works and procurement processes in respect of the contractual aspects of the works.

Tenders must be accompanied by the following information:

1. EL, PL Insurance Certification 2. Completed Approved Contractors questionnaire 3. Method statement to include clear reference to environmental protection measures during construction and in regard to the compliant disposal of redundant material. 4. Risk Assessment policy and copies of examples from similar schemes.
