SALES NOTES Eddie Cochran was truly Somethin' Else . He had the look. He had the talent. He had the attitude. He played guitar-- really played guitar. He produced his own records. He wrote his own songs. And he died too soon, leaving the tantalizing promise of what might have been. Eddie Cochran was no prefabricated teen idol. He controlled his music in a way that few early rock 'n' rollers could or did. He lived in the studio and explored its potential, and, as rock 'n' roll changed, he changed with it. His death in 1960 was a tragic loss. This is the most comprehensive Eddie Cochran compilation ever assembled! Here's what it includes: TRACK LISTING CD 1 : Gamblers Guitar - Candy Kisses - Hearts Of Stone - Steelin' The Blues - She Done Give Her Heart To Me - Live Fast, Love Hard, Die Young - Rockin' And Flyin'(version 1) ( The Cochran Brothers ) - Mr. Fiddle ( The Cochran Brothers ) - Two Blue Singing Stars ( The Cochran Brothers ) - Guilty Conscience ( The Cochran Brothers ) - Your Tomorrows Never Come ( The Cochran Brothers ) - Latch On (version 1) (vocal: Hank Cochran )- My Love To Remember (version 1) - Heart Of A Fool (vocal: Jerry Capehart ) - Latch On (version 2) ( The Cochran Brothers ) - Yesterdays Heartbreak - Pink-Peg Slacks (version 1) - Tired And Sleepy ( The Cochran Brothers ) - Fools Paradise ( The Cochran Brothers ) - Slow Down ( The Cochran Brothers ) - Open The Door ( The Cochran Brothers ) - I'm Ready (vocal: Hank Cochran ) - Dark Lonely Street (version1, take 6) - Blue Suede Shoes - Long Tall Sally - Thats My Desire - I Almost Lost My Mind - Twenty Flight Rock (version 1) - Completely Sweet (version 1) - My Love To Remember (version 2, take 3)- Dark Lonely Street (version 2) - Pink-Peg Slacks (version 2) - Half Loved (version 1) - My Love To Remember (version 3, take 9) - Latch On (version 3) (vocal: Jerry Capehart ) CD 2 : Skinny Jim - Half loved (version 2, take 5) - Jungle Gingle (instrumental) - Guitar Blues (instrumental) - Mighty Mean (demo)- Cotton Picker - Sittin' In The Balcony - Mean When I'm Mad - One Kiss - Am I Blue -Cradle Baby - Drive In Show - Proud Of You - Undying love - Have I Told You Lately... - I'm Alone Because I Love You - Completely Sweet (version 2) - Twenty Flight Rock (version 2) - Stockin's And Shoes - Lovin Time - Tell Me why – Never - Sweetie Pie - Pocket Full Of Hearts - Pretty Girl - Jeannie Jeannie Jeannie - Little Lou – Theresa - Teenage Cutie - Summertime Blues – Ah, Pretty Girl (single version with overdubbed guitar solo)– Lonely - Love Again - Meet Mr Tweedy (instrumental) - Nervous Breakdown (version 1) CD 3: One Minute To One - Cruisin' The Drive-In - Nervous Breakdown (version 2)- Lets Get Together - Dont Ever Let Me Go - C'mon Everybody (single version speeded up)- I've Waited So Long - Teenage Heaven (movie version) - I Remember - My Way – Rock'n' Roll Blues - Teenage Heaven (version 2) - Three Stars – Weekend - Think Of Me (UK single 'erase' version) - Three Steps To Heaven (version 1, take 9)- Somethin' Else - Boll Weevil Song (take 1, speeded up) – Guybo (instrumental/LP version) - Eddies Blues (instrumental) - Milk Cow Blues (take 3) - Chicken Shot Blues (instrumental) - Strollin' Guitar (instrumental) - My Love To Remember (version 5, take 10) - Little Angel (take 10 with chorus overdub) – Hallelujah! Ray Charles isn’t just a giant of American music. He is American music. ASASinGer , SonGwriTer , keYboArDiST , AnD bAnDleADer , C hArleS has left an indelible stamp on rock, r&b, blues, jazz, and country, often by single-handedly redefining the boundaries between them. born in Albany, Georgia, in 1930, Charles studied music at a florida school for the blind before settling in Seattle in 1947. A MASTERS VOICE There he developed a jazzy style in the mode of nat king Cole. Conversations with Ray Charles he also worked as an arranger, most notably on Guitar Slim’s 1953 classic “The Things That i used to Do,” easily one of the most important blues tracks of all time. but Charles really hit his stride with 1955’s “i’ve Got a woman,” whose raucous, gospel-inflected style was a bold departure from his earlier, smoother style. follow-up hits such as “what’d i Say” and “hallelujah i love her So” cemented Charles’s position as r&b’s most important stylist. James brown is the Godfather of Soul; ray Charles is simply the father. in the early ’60s, Charles launched a second musical revolution: he demolished the wall between r&b and country music with such hits as “i Can’t Stop loving You” and “You Don’t know Me.” Charles is still going strong 50 years after “The Things That i used to Do,” thrilling audiences with one of the world’s most recognizable and beloved voices. he also strives to improve the lives of hearing-impaired children through the ray Charles foundation.

  • User's Guide to WDAM Radio's History of Buddy Holly & the Crickets
User's Guide To WDAM Radio's History Of Buddy Holly & The Crickets Preface To The 2020 Edition This across-four-decades-and-two-centuries-long work-in-progress now has been converted to MP3. This new version is expanded from the most recent edition (2009) and contains even more hit and significant non-hit covers of Buddy Holly “solo” and Buddy Holly & The recordings ... as well as newly discovered Buddy Holly "salute" songs, interviews, and recorded historical artifacts that WDAM Radio has identified and acquired. The Collection Congratulations! You now own every hit record ever recorded by Buddy Holly (and/or records on which Buddy appeared as a back-up singer/musician) in both the United States and the United Kingdom. It also includes all charted hits by the Crickets [including all of their many United Kingdom hits, too!] after Buddy's death, as well as their remaining discography. All are in chronological order! .... or at least, sort of. You'll also enjoy original versions of songs that were later re-made into hits by Holly...plus every other artists' hit covers [including those that were only hits in the United Kingdom] of Holly originals ever recorded...plus almost all of those glorious "Buddy Holly death-salute" songs (along with similar tributes to J.P. Richardson and Ritchie Valens). It's the only collection of its kind this side ... or any side of Lubbock, Texas; Clovis, New Mexico; New York City; or Clear Lake, Iowa. (If you know the history of Buddy Holly, you will know why those locations were chosen.) Every release on single 45's (or 78's) is followed by the highest position reached in Billboard magazine and the year.
