(www.playscripts.com) ABOUT THE PLAY In Carrie and Meg McCrossen's play "Influencer Nation," PBS hosts Leslie Blumenthal and Wyndon Harris interview the most influential influencers in the worlds of comedy, finance, fitness, gaming, fashion, beauty, and politics. After an action-packed evening of interviews with the zaniest personalities in the world, Blumenthal and Harris declare which of these influencers will take the title of the first ever "Influencer Laureate." ABOUT YOUNG COMPANY Entering its 12th season, The Young Company uses the same ensemble training techniques that created the Irondale Ensemble Project. Just as the professional company grew out of the interests and talents of the original members, the Young Company develops work in the same way.
Young Company members gain hands-on experience and learn what it takes to run a professional theatre by ushering visiting and in-house productions, assisting in youth classes, distributing marketing materials, stuffing programs, and working alongside Irondale’s professional Ensemble on our Equity productions. We are truly grateful for their commitment and are proud to call each and every young person an Irondale family member. Much of the conversation that has happened over the past year among (Young) company members has been around - What is truth? What is real? What is 'actual' news? Who are the 'influencers' in our lives..and what power do they wield? How do we connect (or, stay connected)? How do we stay sane and not completely 'stress out' in this time in my life? Am I gonna have a prom? What IS the prom gonna look like? Do I even WANNA go to a prom? The company invites you to consider these and other questions as they search for...answers."
