With SAP enhancement package 2 for SAP SCM 7.0, version for SAP HANA, SAP is enabling the existing functions of SAP enhancement package 2 for SAP SCM 7.0 for SAP HANA to utilize the in-memory technology and enable better performing business applications. Thereby, business applications can manage large data volumes faster. SAP HANA comprises the required hardware as well as the SAP HANA appliance software (SAP HANA database and data replication tools, for example).

Note SAP enhancement package 2 for SAP SCM 7.0, version for SAP HANA is technically very similar to an enhancement package, however it is not part of the release sequence of EHPs of SAP enhancement package 2 for SAP SCM 7.0. It is an optional intermediate step for early adopters of SAP HANA. Note that some industry solutions, add-ons or functions will not be supported with SAP enhancement package 2 for SAP SCM 7.0, version for SAP HANA, because this release is a product outside of the release sequence of SAP SCM. If your company implements this release, a separate agreement which sets forth the specific restrictions and deviation from the SAP license and maintenance agreement needs to be signed. Note SAP enhancement package 2 for SAP Supply Chain Management 7.0, version for SAP HANA, does not contain any Java components. SAP HANA runs natively on Unicode only. If your system is not yet running on Unicode, consider doing the conversion separately before migrating to SAP HANA. The Unicode conversion could technically be done during the database migration (that is, during the heterogeneous system copy), but preparatory steps are required as described in SAP Note 1051576 .

The following figure shows one deployment option for SAP Supply Chain Management. The ABAP stack runs on a SAP HANA database, while SAP liveCache and SCM Optimizer run outside of SAP HANA. In this option, SAP liveCache is installed as in all previous releases, as a separate instance, not on an SAP HANA database but on SAP MaxDB technology.

Note Running SAP liveCache on a SAP HANA database that is separate from the SAP HANA database that SCM Server is installed on is not supported.

The following figure shows another deployment option for SAP Supply Chain Management. The ABAP stack runs on an SAP HANA database, together with an integrated SAP liveCache, while SCM Optimizer runs outside of SAP HANA.

Caution

Check SAP Note 1768043 if the functions that you are planning to implement are released for usage in SAP enhancement package 2 for SAP SCM 7.0, version for SAP HANA.

Implementation Considerations

It is possible to run SAP enhancement package 2 for SAP SCM 7.0, version for SAP HANA on a non-SAP-HANA database.

Technical System Landscape Recommendation Consider that with this deployment option you might not be able to benefit from all available optimizations. Therefore, we strongly recommend that you use an SAP HANA database.

For SAP enhancement package 2 for SAP SCM 7.0, version for SAP HANA, SAP does not provide SAP Solution Manager implementation content. If you want to implement a new process or scenario using the SAP Solution Manager implementation content, you can do so before implementing SAP enhancement package 2 for SAP SCM 7.0, version for SAP HANA.

This section of the Administrator's Guide provides an overview of the installation process steps for SAP enhancement package 2 for SAP SCM 7.0, version for SAP HANA. 4.1 Installation Process: Overview

The installation process consists of the following steps: 1. Install SAP HANA The SAP HANA appliance software can only be installed by certified hardware partners on validated hardware running a specific operating system. For more information, see the SAP HANA Technical Operations Manual on the SAP Help Portal at help.sap.com/hana_appliance , under System Administration and Maintenance Information SAP HANA Technical Operations Manual (TOM) . 2. Installation of SAP enhancement package 2 for SAP SCM 7.0, version for SAP HANA The installation process of SAP enhancement package 2 for SAP SCM 7.0, version for SAP HANA (ABAP components only) is basically the same as the installation process of SAP enhancement package 2 for SAP SCM 7.0. You therefore use the existing SAP enhancement package 2 for SAP SCM 7.0 guide for the installation. Note the following: ○ SAP enhancement package 2 for SAP SCM 7.0, version for SAP HANA is based on SAP NetWeaver AS ABAP 7.4, kernel 7.38 (SP00, SP01) and kernel 7.40 (SP02).. ○ Only ABAP components are released for SAP HANA. For more information on the available technical usages and components, see Technical System Landscape [page 13] ○ The SAP enhancement package 2 for SAP SCM 7.0 guide does not mention any SAP HANA-specific installation steps. ○ The installation is done with the Software Provisioning Manager.

Note that in this case you need enhancement package 2 for SAP SCM to use the Media List for SAP Server 7.0 Enhancement Package 2 for SAP Supply Chain Management 7.0. It is

found at the same location as the installation guide.

4.2 Post-Installation Cleanup Activities

The standard planning object structures (POS) (using prefix 9A) are in inconsistent state when you install SAP Enhancement Package 2 for SAP Supply Chain Management 7.0, version for SAP HANA (SCM 712). For more information about the reason for the inconsistent state, and the steps you as an administrator need to make to clean up the inconsistencies, see SAP Note 1864409 .

4.3 Installation of SAP liveCache

When you install SAP enhancement package 2 for SAP Supply Chain Management 7.0, version for SAP HANA, you have the following options to install SAP liveCache: ● SAP liveCache is integrated in the SAP HANA database, so that SAP liveCache and SCM Server are running on the same database instance. ● SCM Server is installed on the SAP HANA database, while SAP liveCache is installed on a separate (non- HANA) server using SAP MaxDB technology.

Recommendation We strongly recommend you to use liveCache integrated in SAP HANA database as it will grant you the following advantages compared to using external liveCache: ● Higher performance ● Lower TCO ● Simplified backup and recovery ● Lower risk of data inconsistencies

SAP liveCache and SCM Server on the Same Database Instance

In case SCM Server and SAP liveCache are to be located on the same (SAP HANA) database instance, proceed with the installation as follows: 1. Install the SAP HANA database. In addition to the SAP HANA database, the SAP liveCache Applications also have to be installed in this step. For more information, see section Updating the SAP HANA System of the SAP HANA Server Installation and Update Guide on the SAP Help Portal at help.sap.com/hana_appliance , under Installation and Upgrade Information SAP HANA Server Installation and Update Guide . In this configuration, the following two options are possible: ○ The SAP HANA database is running on a single node including SAP liveCache (integrated SAP liveCache, single-node scenario)

Installation Information ○ SAP liveCache is running on a dedicated, separate node in SAP HANA (integrated SAP liveCache, scale- out scenario) The installation steps required for both scenarios are described in the SAP HANA Installation Guide on the SAP Help Portal at help.sap.com/hana_appliance , under Installation and Upgrade Information SAP HANA Server Installation and Update Guide . 3. If necessary, migrate data from your SAP SCM system that ran on a non-HANA database to the SAP SCM system running on an SAP HANA database.

SAP liveCache and SCM Server on Separate Database Instances In case SCM Server and SAP liveCache are to be located on two separate database instances, with SCM Server on SAP HANA and SAP liveCache on MaxDB technology, proceed with the installation as follows: 1. This section of the Administrator's Guide provides an overview of the update and upgrade process steps required to enable SAP enhancement package 2 for SAP SCM 7.0 to run on SAP HANA. It also provides references to the documentation required for the process steps. The following table contains definitions of the most important terms used in this section:

5.1 Update and Migration Process: Overview

The update process consists of the steps listed below, some of which may be optional, depending on your start release.

Note Before performing the steps described below, consider making a homogeneous system copy to preserve your current status, so that you have a reference or fallback system in place. You can do the system copy before any of the steps below, depending on your requirements and scheduling. ● For more information about system copy of systems based on SAP NetWeaver 7.3 (or higher), see the documentation at service.sap.com/sltoolset , under Software Logistics Toolset 1.0 Software Provisioning Manager 1.0 . ● For more information about system copy of systems based on SAP NetWeaver releases lower than 7.3, see the SAP NetWeaver installation guides at service.sap.com/instguides , under Installation & Upgrade Guides SAP NetWeaver .

1. Upgrade or update to SAP enhancement package 2 for SAP SCM 7.0 This step is only required if you are running a system lower than SAP enhancement package 2 for SAP SCM 7.0. 2. Dual-stack split As only ABAP components are enabled for SAP HANA, and dual-stack systems are not supported beyond Business Suite i2011, (see SAP Note 1655335 ) you cannot deploy a dual-stack system (with both ABAP and Java components running in the same system). If your SAP SCM system is currently implemented as a dual-stack system, you have to perform a split. The update process from SAP enhancement package 2 for SAP SCM 7.0 to SAP enhancement package 2 for SAP SCM 7.0, version for SAP HANA (ABAP components only) is basically the same as the update process from earlier releases of SAP Supply Chain Management to SAP enhancement package 2 for SAP SCM 7.0. You therefore need to use the existing SAP enhancement package 2 for SAP SCM 7.0 guide, and the Software Update Manager guide.

Note When applying Support Package 1 to SAP enhancement package 2 for SAP SCM 7.0, version for SAP HANA, you have to use the Software Update Manager.

SAP enhancement package 2 for SAP SCM 7.0, version for SAP HANA works with SAP SCM Optimizer 10.0. After you have updated your system to SAP enhancement package 2 for SAP SCM 7.0, version for SAP HANA, and installed SAP SCM Optimizer 10.0, you must perform some manual activities. For more information, see Adjusting the Installation Path for SAP SCM Optimizer [page 28]. 4. Database migration 1. Install SAP HANA The SAP HANA appliance software can only be installed by certified hardware partners on validated hardware running a specific operating system. For more information, see SAP Note 1514967 and the SAP HANA Technical Operations Manual on the SAP Help Portal at help.sap.com/hana_appliance , under System Administration and Maintenance Information SAP HANA Technical Operations Manual (TOM) . 2. Heterogeneous system copy To migrate your source database to the SAP HANA database, you perform a heterogeneous system copy. How to do the system copy is described in the guide referenced in the note below.

Note When planning your database migration, consider the following points: ○ The database migration to SAP HANA requires some preparation steps related to the database tables in your system. For example, you need to check the usage of cluster tables and pool tables, because they are automatically resolved to transparent tables during the database migration. ○ For more information about migration preparation, available check reports, potential additional efforts, as well as the system copy process in general, see the system copy guides at service.sap.com/sltoolset , under Software Logistics Toolset 1.0 Software Provisioning Manager 1.0 . ○ For migration preparation, see also SAP Note 1785057 . ○ SAP HANA runs natively on Unicode only. If your system is not yet running on Unicode, consider doing the conversion separately before migrating to SAP HANA. The Unicode conversion could technically be done during the database migration (that is, during the heterogeneous system copy), but preparatory steps are required as described in SAP Note 1051576 .

During the upgrade to Support Package 2 for SAP Enhancement Package 2 for SAP Supply Chain Management 7.0, version for SAP HANA, the following errors occur: ● Error message: The object R3TR RRCA 9ADCBAS does not exist

Assign a package Specify the package or flag it as a local object

Solution: implement SAP Note 1783090 . ● Error message: There is already an InfoProvider with the name 9ADCBAS (type CUBE)

Solution: implement SAP Note 1868809 .

Procedure

You must correct these errors before the XPRAS phase, by implementing the SAP Notes listed above. To implement the notes, proceed as follows: 1. Set a breakpoint before the XPRAS phase: from the menu choose ABAP Set Breakpoint , and enter the phase name. The phase name can be different depending on the tool release. It is usually XPRAS_UPG or XPRAS_AIMMRG.

2. Unlock the system as follows:

3. Implement the code correction and activate it. 4. Lock the system as follows:

The following procedure describes the upgrade of SAP SCM to a SAP HANA database in the following cases: ● Your source system is SAP SCM 702 (enhancement package 2 for SAP SCM 7.0), with an external MaxDB- based SAP liveCache ● Your source system is an SAP SCM release lower than SCM 702, with an external MaxDB-based SAP liveCache

Procedure

Source Release is SAP enhancement package 2 for SAP SCM 7.0 (SAP SCM 702)

To upgrade SAP SCM 702 to a SAP HANA database, using the integrated SAP liveCache scenario, proceed as follows: 1. Update your SAP SCM system to SAP enhancement package 2 for SAP SCM 7.0, version for SAP HANA (SCM 712). For more information, see section Update and Migration Process: Overview of this guide. 2. Download the data from SAP liveCache to the SAP SCM database, following the instructions in SAP Note 632357 . 3. Migrate your SCM system to SAP HANA, including Unicode conversion, if necessary. 4. Migrate SAP liveCache to SAP HANA as integrated SAP liveCache, follow the steps described in SAP Note 1825703 , excluding steps 1 and 2.

Source Release is Lower than SAP enhancement package 2 for SAP SCM 7.0 (SAP SCM 702)

1. Upgrade your SAP SCM system to SAP enhancement package 2 for SAP SCM 7.0, version for SAP HANA (SCM 712). 2. Upgrade SAP liveCache to version 7.9.

For more information, see SAP Note 1567308 .

3. Execute the report /SAPAPO/OM_LC_DOWNLOAD_UPLOAD, following the instructions in SAP Note 632357 . This report downloads the data in SAP liveCache into the SAP SCM database. 4. Migrate your SCM system to SAP HANA, including Unicode conversion, if necessary. While migrating SAP SCM using SWPM, select the checkbox Use HANA integrated liveCache, in step 2, Define Parameters SAP HANA liveCache .

Note It is not supported to fall back to the MaxDB-based SAP liveCache once you decided to use the SAP liveCache as integrated SAP liveCache.

For information about errors that can occur in the migration process, see SAP Notes 1830427 and 1834027 . 5. Install SAP liveCache as described in the section Installation of SAP liveCache of this guide.

5.4 SAP NetWeaver Business Warehouse Settings for Migrating SAP SCM to a SAP HANA Database

Procedure

Migration of SAP SCM to SAP HANA

To set up SAP NetWeaver Business Warehouse (SAP BW) when migrating the SAP SCM system to a SAP HANA database, proceed as follows: 1. Activate the myself source system in SAP BW (BW client) in transaction RSA1, under Modeling Source Systems BW Activate . 2. Install the latest version of the following BI Content InfoObjects in transaction RSOR: ○ 0LANGU ○ 0HIENM 3. Run the report RS_BW_POST_MIGRATION 4. Run the report RSDU_TABLE_CONSISTENCY in background processing mode. For more information about executing the report, see SAP Note 1695778 ). During the first run, the report creates an analysis. If it finds errors, you must run the report a second time using the Repair option, also in background processing mode.

Note Depending on the number of tables to be repaired, the report can take several hours to run.

Heterogeneous/Homogeneous System Copy

Proceed as follows:

1. Before migration, implement the SAP Note 1775181 to preserve aggregates in SAP APO

5.5 Migration of Planning Object Structures to DataStore Object Persistence

When you migrate your SCM system to a SAP HANA database, you must migrate the existing planning object structures (POSs) from InfoCube persistence to DataStore object persistence. This must be done directly after the migration of the SCM system to the SAP HANA database before you start using functions in SCM that require the use of planning object structures in Demand Planning, Supply Network Planning, Service Parts Planning, and Supply Network Collaboration. The new persistence of planning object structures is available as of the following Support Packages: ● SAP Enhancement Package 2 for SAP Supply Chain Management 7.0, Support Package 07 ● SAP Enhancement Package 2 for SAP Supply Chain Management 7.0, version for SAP HANA, Support Package 02

Note You must install the relevant Support Package to get the code changes that enable the migration of POSs to DataStore object persistence.

After you have installed the relevant Support package, to perform the migration, you must run the report Migrate Planning Object Structures to DataStore Object Persistence (/SCMB/PSTRU_MIGRATION_TO_DSO). For more information about the report, and details about the persistence change, see the following SAP Notes:

5.6 Adjusting the Installation Path for SAP SCM Optimizer

In SAP SCM Optimizer 10.0, the default installation path has changed from APOOPT to SCMOPT. As opposed to older versions of SAP SCM Optimizer, where the default installation path was fixed, you can change this installation path as of SAP SCM Optimizer 10.0. The selected installation directory is later on referred to as in this guide.

Furthermore, all subdirectories have been deleted so that any SAP SCM Optimizer executables are extracted directly to the chosen installation directory.

This means that after you have updated your system from SAP enhancement package 2 for SAP SCM 7.0 to SAP enhancement package 2 for SAP SCM 7.0, version for SAP HANA, and installed SAP SCM Optimizer 10.0, you must adjust the installation paths in your ABAP application server where SCM is installed.

Procedure

To adjust the installation path, proceed as follows: 1. If you use a standalone gateway instance, start the gateway instance. 2. Log on to the ABAP application server.

3. Call transaction SM59. The Display and maintain RFC destinations screen appears.

4. Open the node TCP/IP connection. 5. Double-click each SAP SCM Optimizer destination name. The default SAP SCM Optimizer destination is called OPTSERVER_, but if you set up RFC connections for additional SAP SCM Optimizer servers, you must change the installation paths for these as well. The RFC Destination OPTSERVER_Optimizer01 screen appears. 6. On the Technical Settings tab page, in the Program field, check your program path, and change it.

Example Your program path should be \dsoptsvr.exe , for example.
