Artisanal Cellars artisanalcellars.com [email protected] Massimago “Duchessa Allegra” Garganega IGT Winery: Massimago Category: Wine – Still – White Grape Variety: Garganega Region: Mezzane di Sotto / Veneto / Italy Vineyard: Estate Winery established: 2003 Feature: Organic Product Information Soil: Layers of limestone, marl and clay Elevation: 80 – 100 meters (262 to 330 feet) Vinification: 20% of the grapes are harvested before the main harvest to make sure to have a deep freshness in the wine. The rest is picked at perfect ripeness. Skin maceration takes place for a few days. After vinification, malolactic fermentation takes place in steel vats for 5 months. Planting Density: 3,000 vines/ha. Tasting Note: Yellowish straw color with pale green reflections. Tangy citrus aroma reminiscent of grapefruit and green apples. On the palate, crunchy clean, with fruity notes and high minerality which combine harmoniously to achieve perfect balance. “I wanted to give my Garganega the opportunity to express herself in a different way. I wanted her to finally become a real lady; she introduces herself with a citrus bouquet almost grapefruit like. The slow gentle drying of her grapes has concentrated 50 years of history into glorious essence drops. The perfect combination should be… in front of the fireplace with a fish soup.” Production: 5,000 – 8,000 bottles/ year Alc: 12.5% Producer Information Located in the Val di Mezzane valley (Eastern Valpolicella) over a hill surrounded by woods, this gorgeous estate is managed with creativity and strong determination by Camilla Rossi Chauvenet and her coworkers. The name of the winery is from the Latin "Maximum Agium", maximum benefit.

  • GPG Garganega Pinot Grigio
GPG Garganega Pinot Grigio Producer: Boutinot Italy Adria Vini Winemaker: Claudio Manera Country of Origin: Italy Region of Origin: Venezie Grapes: Garganega, Pinot Grigio ABV: 12% Case Size: 6x75cl Vintage: 2014 Suitable For: Vegetarians Closure Type: Screw Cap The One-Liner Great, affordable alternative to PG - but also a characterful wine in it's own right. Tasting Note Lightly aromatic with ripe citrus, apple and stone fruit characters. A crisp and easy to drink dry white with soft, lightly honeyed fruit and a fresh finish. Producer Details Set up in 2003, Adria Vini is a winemaking venture jointly owned by Boutinot and Araldica Vini Piemontesi, the leading co-operative in Piemonte. All areas of production, from grape selection through to vinification, maturation, blending and bottling are meticulously overseen by Araldica's Claudio Manera and Lella Burdese. Working closely with growers and cooperatives, our aim is to produce a range of authentic, well-priced wines from local grape varieties. The mainstay of white wine production is Pinot Grigio, sourced from the Pavia region south of Milan, Friuli and the Veneto, with the addition of Prosecco, and Grillo and Catarratto wines from Sicily. The reds come from mature, low yielding vineyards in Sicily, Puglia and Abruzzo, the source of some of Europe's most undervalued and characterful wines. Our most recent project has brought Cannonau and Vermentino from Sardinia to the portfolio. In The Vineyard Food Recommendations Produced from Garganega grapes grown around Highly versatile, ideal as an aperitif or with seafood, the Verona and Vicenza region, with the addition of grilled fish, salads and cold white meats.

  • Our Wines: Sicily
Home Our Wines About Us Contact Us S ic i ly During the Spanish rule, a count crossed Sicily and reached Matarocco, a dense cloud of houses crossed by a winding road dating back three centuries and famous for the culinary specialties of ancient origin that captivated him. Since then, he committed to pass on to generations to come the recipe for excellence of that place: the Matarocco, a typical peasant tomato dish known only in Marsala, used as a condiment for pasta and bruschetta and that housewives still prepare today according to tradition. This line is dedicated to the encounter between the Earl and Matarocco, and has been created to celebrate the best Sicilian cultivar, Grillo, Inzolia, Grecanico, Alcamo white, Nero d'Avola, Frappato, Syrah. We propose a selection of this wine line. Grecanico is one of the great varieties of white grape native to Italy. The history of this grape is quite a mystery. Some studies revealed that this grape variety was brought by Greeks to Italy. In the 7th Century BC, the Greeks brought many varieties of grape wines to Italy one of those was Grecanico. Grecanico is planted in some Italian regions, such as Veneto (where is called Garganega), Friuli-Venezia Giulia, Umbria, and Sicily. It is appreciated for its strong straw yellow color, with golden traces. The wine is quite acidic, sapid, and elegant. Grecanico Terre Siciliane IGT "Conte di Matarocco" GRAPE VARIETIES Grecanico WINEMAKING Pressing of the grapes is very soft and slow fermentation takes place at 16°C. The wine is aged in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks.
