Short-Handed Goal Kyle Mountain vs. Northeastern (1/27/12) MITCHELL SIGNS WITH MINNESOTA WILD Torrey Mitchell '07 signed a three-year contract with the NHL’s Minnesota Wild Two Short-Handed Goals over the summer. Mitchell had spent the first five years of his NHL career with Ryan Cox (same shift) vs. Holy Cross (12/2/00) the San Jose Sharks, who drafted him in 2004. Mitchell skated in 76 games last Empty-Net Goal season, posting 19 points on nine goals and 10 assists. Thomas set a new single-season record for save percentage (.938) in the UVM Swept a Home Series 2010-11 season, as well as NHL records for most saves in one playoff year (798) vs. Boston University (7-3, 3-2) (2/26 & 2/28/10) and in a Stanley Cup Final (238). He brought the Cup back to Burlington, Vt. UVM Swept a Road Series that summer to celebrate the Bruins’ championship run. The Everblades defeated former Catamount goalie Joe at No. 1 Denver (6-4) (10/10/09) Fallon '08 and the Las Vegas Wranglers 3-2 in overtime at home to clinch their Win Against Top-Five Ranked Opponent first-ever title. In 17 playoff games with Florida, Irwin was tied for fourth on at No. 1 Denver (6-4) (10/10/09) the team with 13 points on six goals and seven assists. He finished the playoffs with a plus-6 rating and a team-high 63 shots on goal. Gunderson scored the second goal in a 2-0 win 7-2 at Maine (02/11/11) for Brynäs in Game 6 over Skellefteå to clinch the team's first title since 1999 and 13th overall. In 2008-09, Viktor Stålberg became just the fourth Catamount in program SNEDDON vs. ALL OPPONENTS AT VERMONT history to be named a finalist for the Hobey Baker Award, given annual - ly to the top college hockey player in the country. Stålberg was also named a First Team NCAA All-American and signed a NHL contract with HOCKEY EAST RECORD the Maple Leafs in April of 2009. He was the first UVM player to Boston College 6-17-4 receive Hockey East First Team All-Star honors and ranked top-15 nation - Boston University 9-13-6 ally in scoring with 46 points in his final season. Maine 7-13-3 The following year, Brayden Irwin became the sixth Catamount that has Massachusetts 11-10-3 played for Sneddon in as many years to sign a NHL contract. Irwin also signed a two-year deal with the Maple Leafs in March of 2010 and spent UMass Lowell 8-11-6 the 2010-11 season with the AHL's . Irwin became the first Merrimack 7-10-6 Catamount to be named to the Hockey East All-Rookie Team in 2007 after New Hampshire 6-17-5 netting 10 goals as a rookie. Northeastern 12-10-3 Defenseman Kyle Medvec, who graduated after the 2010-11 season, was a Providence 11-6-5 fourth round pick of the Minnesota Wild in 2006 and signed an entry level contract in July of 2011. Medvec was a sophomore on Vermont's 2008-09 Frozen Four team under Sneddon. Kevan Miller, a two-year captain of the NON-CONFERENCE RECORD Catamounts, signed a NHL entry level contract with the Boston Bruins in Alabama-Huntsville (IND) 1-0-0 October, 2011. Anchorage-Alaska (WCHA) 1-0-0 After the 2011-12 season, Viktor Stålberg's brother Sebastian was signed Air Force (AHA) 1-0-0 to a two-year NHL contract by the San Jose Sharks and joined the team's Brown (ECAC) 1-3-0 AHL affiliate in Worcester, Mass. Stålberg marked the eighth Catamount Clarkson (ECAC) 2-2-1 under Sneddon to sign a National Hockey League contract in the last six years. Stålberg posted 17 multi-point games in his final two seasons at Colgate (ECAC) 3-4-1 UVM and ranked second in Hockey East in power play scoring last season. Connecticut (AHA) 1-0-0

Four current Sneddon recruits are former NHL Draft selections: Senior Cornell (ECAC) 0-4-1 Brett Bruneteau (2007, Fourth Round, Washington Capitals), junior Dartmouth (ECAC) 9-6-0 Connor Brickley (2010, Second Round, Florida Panthers), and sophomores Denver (WCHA) 1-2-1 Michael Paliotta (2011, Third Round, Chicago Blackhawks) and Nick Luukko (2010, Sixth Round, Philadelphia Flyers). Ferris State (CCHA) 1-0-0 Harvard (ECAC) 3-4-2 The Catamounts participate in several community service events each Holy Cross (AHA) 0-0-1 year. Sneddon suffered two season-ending injuries, and operations on his Rensselaer (ECAC) 4-2-0 shoulder and back limited his playing time in each of his last two sea - Sacred Heart (AHA) 1-0-0 sons. Before beginning his coaching career, Sneddon had a brief stint St. Cloud State (WCHA) 0-1-0 with the Kings in the NHL. Back surgery cut short his career and he made the decision to become a coach shortly thereafter. St. Lawrence (ECAC) 7-5-0 Union (ECAC) 3-1-0 Born and raised in Burlington, Ontario, Sneddon attended Nelson High Wisconsin (WCHA) 0-1-0 School before attending Harvard. His father, Robert, played professional hockey for the Chicago Blackhawks and the California Golden Seals. He Yale (ECAC) 5-2-0 spent much of his career playing in the AHL and IHL minor leagues.
