1. Participate in events or programs sponsored by educational institutions relating to career opportunities in broadcasting.
Career Fair at Stockton College, Pomona, NJ Date: 2/26/15
On 2/26/15, the WRAT/WJRZ RatPack/Street Team and Promotions Coordinator attended the Stockton College Career Day in Pomona from 12Noon-4pm. Prospective employees and interns were provided with information regarding available Greater Media New Jersey job/internship openings, including openings at the Employment Unit, and resumes were accepted. Questions regarding career opportunities in broadcasting and the application process were answered.
Brookdale Community College Career and Internship Fair, Lincroft, NJ Date: 3/26/15
On 3/26/15, the RatPack/WJRZ Street Team and Promotions Coordinator went to a Brookdale Community College Career and Internship Fair in Lincroft, New Jersey from 11A-2P. The RatPack/WJRZ Street Team and Promotions Coordinator set up a table to promote the stations and discuss careers in broadcasting. Prospective employees and interns were provided with information regarding available Greater Media NJ job/intern openings. Resumes were accepted and questions regarding career opportunities and the application process were answered.
Forked River Elementary School Career Day, Forked River, NJ Date: 5/22/15
On 5/22/15, 95.9 The Rat's Production Director went to Forked River Elementary School for Career Day. The goal was to educate the children and to inspire them to find something in life they love to do. He spoke about his job as Production Director/ Radio talent at the radio station, and discussed how Radio works, what ratings are, and what the various jobs are at a radio station.

On 5/16/15 the RatPack/WJRZ Street Team attended the Five Chamber Business to Business Expo at Martell's Tiki Bar in Pt. Pleasant Beach, NJ from 5 to 7:00p. The RatPack/WJRZ Street Team along with Local Sales Manager, set up a table to promote the stations and discuss careers in broadcasting. Prospective employees and interns were provided with information regarding available Greater Media New Jersey job/intern openings. Resumes were accepted and questions regarding career opportunities and the application process were answered.
Five Chamber Business to Business Expo, Point Pleasant, NJ Date: 11/12/15
On 11/12/15, the RatPack/WJRZ Street Team and Local Sales Manager attended the Five Chamber Business to Business Expo at Martell's Tiki Bar in Pt. Pleasant Beach, New Jersey from 5 to 7:30p. The RatPack/WJRZ Street Team set up a table to promote the stations and discuss careers in broadcasting. Prospective employees and interns were provided with information regarding available Greater Media New Jersey job/intern openings. 3 Monmouth County Spring Job Fair, Lincroft, NJ Date: 3/26/15
On 3/26/15 the RatPack/WJRZ Street Team attended the Monmouth County Spring Job Fair 10am-1pm at Brookdale Community College in Lincroft, New Jersey. The RatPack/WJRZ Street Team set up a table to promote the stations and discuss careers in broadcasting. Prospective employees and interns were provided with information regarding available Greater Media New Jersey job/intern openings. Resumes were accepted and questions regarding career opportunities and the application process were answered by the Sales Manager of the stations.
Greater Ocean Township Expo, Neptune, NJ Date: 6/9/15
On 6/9/15 the RatPack/WJRZ Street Team attended the Greater Ocean Township Expo at Jumping Brook Golf Club in Neptune New Jersey from 5 to 7:30p. The RatPack/WJRZ Street Team set up a table to promote the stations and to discuss careers in broadcasting. Prospective employees and interns were provided with information regarding available Greater Media New Jersey job/intern openings. Resumes were accepted and questions regarding career opportunities and the application process were answered by the promotions director.
3. Participate in events sponsored by organizations representing community groups interested in broadcast employment issues, including conventions, career days, workshops, and similar activities.
JSPRAA Integrated Marketing Workshop Date: 2/27/15
On 2/27/15, Greater Media New Jersey Business Development Manager attended and was a panelist at the Jersey Shore Public Relations and Advertising Association (JSPRAA) Integrated Marketing Workshop in Tinton Falls, New Jersey. The event was attended by people in the advertising/marketing business that want to learn how to incorporate all channels of Marketing and maintain consistent messaging across those channels, as well as find out about employment opportunities in the industry, including broadcast employment. The employment unit set up a table to promote all of the Greater Media New Jersey stations and related career opportunities.
Brick Township Chamberfest Date: 10/22/15
On 10/22/15, the RatPack/WJRZ Street Team attended the Brick Township Chamberfest at the River Rock Restaurant in Bricktown, New Jersey from 5:30-7:30pm. The RatPack/WJRZ Street Team set up a table promoting the stations and employment opportunities at the stations.
4. Establish an internship program designed to train local students and community members in the skills and experience needed to procure employment in the broadcast field.
WRAT/WJRZ-FM Internship Program Date: Ongoing (1/23/15 – 1/22/16)
WRAT/WJRZ-FM runs an ongoing internship program that is advertised on the station websites and through notifications and internship fairs with local colleges. Internships are offered in Promotions with opportunities to explore other departments such as On-Air, Production, and Sales. All internships stress hands-on involvement with the relevant departments.
During the reporting period the following colleges have had or currently have interns at WRAT/WJRZ-FM: William Patterson University, Temple University, Hofstra University, Drexel University, West Chester University, Ramapo College of NJ, Stockton University, Seton Hall University and Monmouth University. Approximately 12 interns worked with the stations during the reporting period.

4 WRAT/WJRZ-FM Internship Orientation Date: 6/24/15 and 9/2/15
The Promotions Department held an internship seminar to go over the practices and policies of the station employment unit. At this mandatory meeting, interns discussed scheduling, including office hours and meet times, internship responsibilities, and event procedures and rules. The station employment unit also discussed the usage of station equipment.
5. Provide training to management level personnel as to methods of ensuring equal employment opportunity and preventing discrimination
Equal Opportunity Training Date: 4/15/15
On 4/15/15, the Greater Media HR Manager and regional office managers attended Equal Employment Opportunity Training presented by the Greater Media corporate legal department. EEO best practices and public file reporting requirements were discussed.
6. Participate in other activities designed by the station employment unit reasonably calculated to further the goal of disseminating information on broadcasting employment opportunities to job candidates or future job candidates who might otherwise be unaware of such opportunities.
WRAT School/Community Tours Date: Ongoing (1/23/15 – 1/22/16)
WRAT Tours usually include a 30-minute overview of the various departments within the radio station, beginning at the transmitter tower. Inside, participants get a summary (and occasionally a demonstration) of the importance of the Production Department and then visit the on-air studio. WRAT hosted Tours on the following dates:

WJRZ-FM School/Community Tours Date: Ongoing (1/23/15 – 1/22/16)
