Those present at the wedding organised at the YMCA Club in Ahmedabad included ministers Rajnath Singh, Nitin Gadkari, Ananth Kumar, JP Nadda, Suresh Prabhu, Piyush Goyal, Dharmendra Pradhan and Rajiv Pratap Rudy. Jharkhand Chief Minister Raghubar Das and BJP joint general secretary V Satish, besides VHP leaders Ashok Singhal as well as Acharya Dharmendra and Baba Ramdevwere also present at the wedding, in addition to RSS pracharak Suresh Soni. Corporate bigwigs like Mukesh Ambani along with his wife Nita Ambani, Gautam Adaniand his wife Priti, Rajya Sabha Member of Parliament (MP) from Jharkhand Parimal Nathwani, former president of the Medical Council of India (MCI) Ketan Desai were present at the wedding. The entire Gujarat cabinet led by Chief Minister Anandiben Patel was also present, Gujarat state BJP spokesperson Harshad Patel said. Additional Solicitor General Tushar Mehta, who had represented the Gujarat state government in the fake encounter case when he used to be Additional Advocate General was present throughout the entire wedding ceremony. According to relatives of the Shah family, wedding rituals were performed by Hindu priests from Mathura and Varanasi, and went on for around two hours. The wedding concluded in the evening, after Shah's son Jay and his daughter-in-law left the venue. However Shah did not step out of his car to comment on BJP's electoral rout in Delhi though he was pursued by reporters for a response. In a landslide victory, AAP captured 67 seats in the Delhi Assembly poll while the BJP managed to win merely three seats. .

KSCF has been working in those areas since 2005 and have made approximately 300 habitations completely child labour free with 100% enrollment. Children at work are a socio-economic issue. However, Government of India stands committed to the elimination of child labour in the country. Constitution of India provides for protection of children from involvement in economic activities and vocations unsuited to their age. Enactment of Child Labour (Prohibition and Prevention) Amendment Act, 2016 is a landmark step in the Endeavour to have a child labour free society that provides for complete prohibition on employment of children below 14 years in all occupations and processes and prohibits employment of adolescents (14-18 years) in hazardous occupations and processes.

In December 2018, five Indian States went to the polls to elect representatives to their Legislative Assemblies. The results of these elections, some six months before the term of the Sixteenth Lok Sabha ends, are a timely expression of public opinion on the issues to be addressed by political parties – both all-India and regional – in a diverse democratic nation that is riven by majoritarian politics, ignoring serious issues such as economic inequalities and rural-urban divides. If the results reminded all-India parties of the consequences of ignoring State-specific issues, they provided regional parties an unexpected reality check on their potential to make, or unmake, victors. One key takeaway is that all-India parties would have to negotiate political space with regional parties to make substantive electoral gains.
