INTRODUCTION Traditionally, the idiom, "this just isn't cricket," refers to something awry or dishonorable.' The expression derives from the strict code of sportsmanship that gave cricket the badge of being the "gentlemen's sport."     MELBOURNE STARS V BRISBANE HEAT The Stars played on the MCG on this day five years ago against Perth Scorchers. The Stars won by 20 runs with a total of 6/161 to the Scorchers 9/141. Brad Hodge made 61 for the victors and Jon Hastings was Player of the Match taking 3/20 and making 13 not out. Tonight’s match between Brisbane Heat and Melbourne Stars features one of the competition’s leading batsmen in Chris Lynn (below). To date he has scored over 1800 runs, the leading Heat player, and second on the all-time list behind Michael Klinger. He was the first to hit 100 sixes in the BBL, and leads the strike rate with 153.40 for those that have played 20 matches or more. He hit 101 from just 51 balls against Hobart Hurricanes on 29 Dec. 2015, and in 2016 hit former Australian ‘Wild Thing’ Shaun Tait onto the roof of the Gabba, a 121 metre shot. He has been appointed captain for the 2018/19 season. Captain of Brisbane Heat for the past two seasons was former New Zealand captain (in all forms of the game) Brendon McCullum. He has scored over 700 runs with a strike rate of 142.80. In T20 Internationals McCullum was the first player to score 1000 runs and also the first to make two T20 centuries. Fast bowler, James Pattinson, joined the Heat this season having played with Melbourne Renegades in 2013/14, 2014/15 and 2016/17. During an injury riddled career he took 19 wickets for the Renegades with best figures of 4/24.
