2 ページ Aral Sea ：Silk Tour Ltd. Day 1 Nukus – Aral Sea (500 km) AM. 08:00 Drive to Aral Sea through Kungrad city and Plain Ustyurt. v Kungrad – the gate town of ancient Khorezm. It was inhabited by Sako-Massaget tribes. The great Greek historical Gekatiy Miletskiy and Gerodoth left information of “city of Khorosmia”. v Plato Ustyurt – this plain is one of the most ancient places where was found more than 60 stops of Neolithic period. It keeps the remains of Skiffs, Mongols and other ancient nations. There were ancient town Shakhi-Vazir, caravanserai Beleuli and Allan fortress. Nowadays this place is a unique town of Mazars-graves and mausoleums of different ages. PM. Lunch-box at the desert at 13:30-13:00. Continue driving at 14:00. Arrival to Aral Sea at 16:30-17:00. v View the remains of Aral Sea – the second biggest lake in Asia gives water from two biggest rivers-Amudarya and Syrdarya. Present day Aral Sea is much smaller than what was ten years ago but still beautiful and mysterious place in the whole Asia. v Swimming in Aral Sea – the water of lake has big quantity of salt and it is very healthful for human body. Dinner and o/n in tents. (B+L+D) Day 2 Aral Sea – Muynak – Nukus (500 km) AM. Breakfast 07:00. Depart at 08:00. Drive back to Nukus through Muynak. Arrival to Muynak at 11:30. SS of: v Muynak – the city once supplied all Central Asia with fish products and located just on the shore of Aral Sea. Now it is deserted and Aral Sea shores are far away from it. v “Cemetery of ships” – Muynak was one of the biggest ports in Uzbekistan and people traveled by river. v Uch Sai – gas Plant, pass gas towers PM. Lunch at local house at 12:00-13:00. Continue driving to Nukus. Arrival to Nukus at 17:00. Dinner and o/n at hotel. (B+L+D) Day 3 Nukus – Khiva (500 km) AM. Breakfast at hotel. SS of Nukus: v Karakalpak State Museum – It has interesting section with models of Toprak Kala Koy Kirilan Kala dedicated to the history of the region, wide section representing fauna and flora. Represented in this section Turan Tiger is a very last one, caught in 1972. Museum also has wide section dedicated to the problem of Aral Sea including satellite maps of Aral Sea from 1957-1988. v Art Gallery – on the same building with Karakalpak State museum, there is an Art Gallery of Igor Savitskiy – finest collection of Soviet avant-garde from 1920s 1930s and others are different works of local masters. Totally museum has 80 000 exhibits ranging from ancient Khorezmian art of Toprak Kala, to national Karakalpak Cubism. v Mizdar Khan & Yusup Ishan – 15km West from Nukus 2 holy sites: Mizdarkhan & Yusup Ishan – 2 enormous cemeteries with several thousands graves – each like mini-Jerusalem in the desert. Mirdarkhan once was an important center for handicrafts and trade. Lunch at local restaurant or at hotel. Drive to Khiva. On the way visit: st st v Chilpik – one of the most interesting sites in Karakalpakstan, is a Zoroastrian tower of silence; built between the end of the 1 century BC and the 1 centure AD, where corpses were exposed to the elements.
