Through the use of the adjusted score procedure, those schools who enter or compete with fewer than 5 on a team will still post a team score. If fewer than five members of a team finish a race, the score of the remaining slots up to five will be a score of one more (plus two more, etc.) than the field that finishes. Schools with more than five members finishing the race shall have their five highest finishers’ scores count toward the team championship. Ties in team scoring shall be resolved by comparing the sixth runner’s score from each team. Uniform rules as set by the National Federation shall be enforced at the State Meet. STARTING LINE: Each space recommended be a minimum of 2 meters wide. At the starting line, lanes will be left vacant when there are more lanes available than teams. Example: Lane spots available = 24 / Teams Competing = 20. Prior to drawing for team starting positions, the meet manager will pull out 4 positions such as lanes 4, 8, 12 and 16. Starting assignments would then be drawn and assigned in lanes 1-3 (lane 4 open), 5-7 (lane 8 open), 9-11 (lane 12 open), 13-15 (lane 16 open), 17-20. USE OF GOLF CARTS, BICYCLES AND OTHER MEANS OF TRANSPORTATION AT THE COURSE shall be limited to officials and workers of the State Meet. AWARDS: Trophies will be given to the top 5 teams in each of the four divisions. Individual plaques will be given to the top twenty runners in each of the four divisions plus individual plaques will be given to each member of the runner-up and championship team in each of the four divisions. 18 September BULLETIN 2016 NDHSAA Local (Sub-Varsity) Official Certification Available NDHSAA has a new process for certifying Local Sub-Varsity officials. Officials who complete all items needed to certify will be able to officiate at the sub-varsity level and below in the sport(s) in which they certify. This certification must be under the direction of an administrator of a NDHSAA member school or with prior NDHSAA approval, a workshop supervisor. Requirements for Local Official include: 1) Completion of the NFHS Learn “Concussion in Sports - What you Need to Know” course. Users must create an account on the NFHSLearn site and purchase the course, although the course is free. Instructions are available on the NDHSAA website at the Concussion Management Information link on the main NDHSAA webpage. 2) Creation of NDHSAA Account. If prospective official has an existing NDHSAA account, requirements must be completed using the existing NDHSAA account and email address. 3) Completion of the online Local Officiating Rules Clinic, available on the “Clinic” tab when logged in to NDHSAA account. 4) Completion and submission of LOCAL Officials’ Registration Form, available at end of Local Officiating Clinic. 5) Submission of payment to LOCAL school administrator for submission to NDHSAA for processing.

ALL 5 items must be complete BEFORE LOCAL officials are eligible to officiate contests. LOCAL Officials are able to officiate contests at the JV level and below only.

Please contact the NDHSAA office with any questions concerning the certification of local sub-varsity officials through this program. Changing Email Addresses in NDHSAA Account As schools transition to new email addresses, users are reminded they must edit email addresses in the NDHSAA system. Editing accounts will allow user history and all existing roles to remain connected to NDHSAA accounts. Users should not create new accounts, they should edit their existing accounts.

To edit your NDHSAA email address/login: 1) Log in to your NDHSAA account 2) Click on “My Profile” on the bottom left portion of the page 3) Click the Edit Button on the Profile page 4) Click the “Account” tab on the grey menu bar that goes across the page 5) Enter your new email address 6) Confirm your new email address 7) Click the blue SAVE button

This is also where you would change your password, if you so desire. Editing your email address on your NDHSAA account assures you receive the proper information from the NDHSAA office.

NDHSAA Coaches Education - Permit Submission Form Beginning in the fall of 2013 all coaches who work with student athletes in grades 9-12 must be certified. To become certified a coach must complete the requirements for a NDHSAA Coaching Permit. Member schools submit their coaching rosters through the NDHSAA Coaching Permit Submission Form. The NDHSAA Coaching Permit Submission Form allows tracking of all coaches through member schools. This is the only form that will be accepted and it must be emailed electronically as an excel file. If you find a need to track more coach information than listed on this form, please feel free to add columns AFTER (to the right of) column 10. Only columns 1-10 need be submitted to NDHSAA.

All coaches must be submitted each year. Only coaches not certified in a prior year will be mailed coaching permits. Coaching permits will be issued by the North Dakota High School Coaches Association. The due date for the Coaches Education Permit Submission form is April 1st each year.

This form has been emailed to main school contacts and is available on the NDHSAA website under Forms. Please contact NDHSAA for any questions concerning this form.
