SARAH DARLING TURNS TO UK TO RECORD NEW ALBUM

American country singer-songwriter Sarah Darling has turned to the UK for her new album, scheduled for release in March 2019. A pre-order of the album – along with her next single - will be available digitally on October 26.

Having laid the early foundations for the record, her fifth studio album, with Mark Bright ((Rascal Flatts, Carrie Underwood, Keith Urban) in her hometown of Nashville, Sarah relocated to London where she has spent the summer working with acclaimed writer/producers Ash Howes (Kylie, Gabriella Aplin) and Pete Hammerton (The Shires, Wandering Hearts, Shane Filan) and with songwriters including Shelly Poole (Paloma Faith, Mel C, Sam Bailey) and Jessica Sharman (Ward Thomas).

On her recent UK focus, Sarah shares: “Over the past couple of years, I have spent an ever greater amount of time in the UK. While Nashville will always remain my musical base, the UK has become a second home to me, both musically and in spirit. I feel so fortunate to be working with such talented musicians and artists in the UK, and I am excited to share the new direction of my music with fans everywhere.”

Sarah’s musical output in 2018 has been pushing her beyond the realms of country and further developing her sound. With pop sensibilities and clear-cut hooks creeping into the mix, the songs - some of which she has performed on her recent live sets – show that she is clearly building on the success of her breakout album Dream Country (released 2017).

The new single ‘Diamonds’, which is mixed by Ash Howes and mastered by Nigel Walton (Biffy Clyro, Bloc Party, Richard Ashcroft), was inspired by real life events and has deeply personal significance for Sarah. Through her masterful storytelling ‘Diamonds’ holds a tone of relatability for the listener… as Sarah puts it, “the song is a reminder that life is a journey with a lot of ups and downs. It’s the struggles that bring out the beauty. I’ve been to the bottom and literally had to pull myself back up, and I’m grateful for the whole adventure, not just the fun glittery parts. I think of how many wonderful things just need a little time and patience.”

Sarah first made her name known in 2008 when she debuted the album ‘Every Monday Morning’ released on June 16, 2009. A second album ‘Angels & Devils’ followed on February 15, 2011 and in August 2012, her breakout single titled “Home to Me,” was released after being featured on SiriusXM’s The Highway.

In November 2016 Darling released the single “You Take Me All The Way” to the UK market, prior to the global release of the “Dream Country” album in early 2017. Building on her earlier successes with the Night in Nashville sessions across the UK, this release firmly established the UK as her second musical home. Singles “Halley’s Comet” and “Where Cowboys Ride” were eagerly received by fans on both sides of the Atlantic. “Dream Country” reached the number 2 selling album on the iTunes UK country charts.

Stateside Sarah has played the CMA Festival in Nashville, toured with stadium fillers Carrie Underwood, , Vince Gill and Tim McGraw, and performed at the more than 80 times. In the UK, as well as her own headline concerts, Sarah has toured with her signature ‘Night in Nashville’ shows, opened for the chart-topping Ward Thomas and performed at the C2C: Country to Country festival in 2016 and 2017. When not in the studio Sarah has played a number of UK festivals including Black Deer, British Summer Time, Symmertyne and Cottingham Folk Festival.

Sarah was nominated for 2017 “International Artist of The Year” by the British Awards and returned in March 2018 her largest UK headline tour yet. Over the span of her career, she has had 7million Spotify streams, and has made appearances on TBS’ CONAN, FOX & Friends, HLN Morning Express with Robin Meade, ABC’s The Bachelor, ITV and more. Sarah partnered with the state of Wyoming to create a video for track “Where Cowboys Ride” that was featured on CMT.
