Segovia 2000 year old Segovia defies time and carries its history into the future, a history that a myriad of tourists come to see and admire each day. One of the most striking Roman treasures in Europe can be found here. This dual treasure consists of an amazingly preserved aqueduct, left by the Romans as a symbol of their greatness, fairytale castle, standing high up on the hilltop, the Alcázar, crowning the city, with the Río Eresma and Río Clamores (rivers).

Segovia's historic centre begins with the aqueduct leading us through its beautiful cobble streets surrounded by protective walls and fortified turrets. The Roman aqueduct that is and will forever be a symbol of the city and Western culture. This 2000-year-old monument is one of the greatest pieces of work left by the Romans. The city's well-preserved medieval structure was one of the arguments put forward in order to obtain the World Heritage title which it recieved in 1985.

Museum of the Glass. Royal Glass Factory of La Granja It is hosted in the former Royal Glass Factory of La Granja, one of the most important industrial buildings in the Europe of the Enlightenment (XVIIIc).

Machines, tools, moulds and historical and contemporary pieces comprise the collection which is on permanent display in the restored industrial architectural venue of the Real Fábrica de Cristales. The evolution of glass and ways of working with glass through the centuries can be traced in the exhibition's different sections.

The gardens were entrusted to a team from Versailles (France) Royal Palace of La Granja It was the summer residence of the Bourbons in the 18th and 19th centuries. In 1720 Phillip V bought the land from the friars of the Parral community. The architect Teodoro Ardemans converted the building into a palace attached to the temple, flanked by four towers with slate capitals.

Palace with squares whose names denote their use: Plaza del Palacio, Plaza del Mercado, Plaza de Canónigos, Plaza de la Cebada, and another, for dreamers, called the Plaza de la Melancolía. It is in the neoclassical style.

The gardens were entrusted to a team from Versailles (France). The Royal Gardens ooze baroque elegance and are important for their rich botany and fountains.

Museum of Tapices of Royal Palace of the Granja de San Ildefonso Royal residency, an example of European Palentine architecture with gardens and fountains in Versaille style. Richly decorated rooms with Carraca marble.

The Flemish series of ‘Los Honores’, the ‘Historia de Ciro el Grande’, ‘Los Triunfos de Petrarca’ and ‘San Jerónimo en oración’, are particularly impressive. Tapestries, include works by Van Orley, known as Honores and Virtudes, inspired by paintings by Goya and painted glass by Luca Giordano, from the end of the seventeenth century.

Way of the Pesquerias Reales The route, created by Carlos III to have an easy access to privileged areas of fishing, is simple and pleasant. Therefore, it is recommended as a familiar route, being possible to go all together walking on the banks of the .

The path can be traversed completely or only a stretch, since the journey passes through towns like Valsain as well as through the recreation areas of Los Asientos and Boca del Asno, both quiet places for a picnic.

Highlights of the province of Segovia’s rich heritage include its fortresses, which for centuries have stood firm against the onslaught of countless battles and clashes and today are a living testimony to the fascinating tales that visitors will enjoy discovering.

With seven gates, this is the most spectacular of medieval towns Sepúlveda Sandwiched between the hills of Somosierra and La Picota, in the province of Segovia, Sepulveda find, Villa Medieval showing its beauty on high. Meeting place of several watercourses, its breathtaking landscape define the Río Duratón river that runs in its ocher and reddish canyon walls.

The medieval town of Sepúlveda was in his day, the "Villa of the Seven Gates", by giving way through the fortified wall and castle (which currently only three towers that can be seen from the square are preserved).

Among its riches, now stands the old prison from the tourist office, located in the Plaza del Trigo, across from City Hall and a few meters the Plaza of , center of the town, in which front the three towers of the castle are appreciated (now the last remnants thereof), and the old log

building. El Salvador, Romanesque church (eleventh century), considered the oldest in the province of Segovia and south of the Duero Romanesque building. The Barbican Street, one of the best preserved paintings from the wall, and where traditional confinements pass. Sepulveda, villa of renowned palaces and stately homes to let discover its beautiful promenade and visit. You can also visit the Villa Museum of the Jurisdictions, located in the ancient Church of San Justo and Pastor.

the northeast of Segovia, downstream from the town of Sepúlveda. In this area, the river has settled inside a deep canyon which in some places has over 100 metre drops. To the landscape's beauty and interest we must add the great archaeological and historic richness contained inside the gorge.

Up in the rocks presiding the gorge pairs of Griffon vultures have built their nests, accompanied by a large number of Egyptian vultures, golden eagles and peregrine falcons.

The area's natural value is also enhanced both historically and artistically by the Romanesque sanctuary of San Frutos, caves with paintings from the Bronze Era and the architectural collection of Sepúlveda.
