Spring has sprung at the Sciencenter! With the new season comes new and exciting hands-on activities, exhibits, and programs — indoors and out — to ignite the imagination of your young scientists.

Take science outside with a visit to one of the Sciencenter’s outdoor spaces! Find out if you can escape a black hole with a round of mini-golf, opening April 1, weather permitting. Challenge a friend — or the whole family — while you maneuver through 18 extraordinary obstacles that explore the science of sound, wind energy, water conservation and more.

Next, kids can climb, bounce and jump through science fun on the Science Playground. Bounce along the Kevlar suspension bridge, share silly secrets at the Whisper Dish, make beautiful bubbles and more. For children up to age 4, the Curiosity Playground just outside of the Curiosity Corner is where they can crawl,

Calling all adults: The Sciencenter isn’t just for kids. On April 4, join us at for the first of an interactive four-part lecture series, “History and Science of Craft Beverages,” presented in partnership with Museum of the Earth, The History Center in Tompkins County, and Experience The . Each lecture begins with a food and beverage pairing with sommelier Laura Winter Falk and is followed by a lively presentation with a local craft producer. Series and individual tickets are available at sciencenter.org (http://sciencenter.org).

Sciencenter offers many activities for children to learn about science in April. Experience science in action every Saturday at our family-friendly, interactive Showtime! presentations. This month, investigate engineering, sustainability, and earth and space science with hands-on activities and experiments presented by local students and scientists. And for your littlest scientists (ages 0 to 4), join us Tuesday through Friday at Science Together as you explore scientific principles through hands-on activities. On April 19 at 3:30 pm, we’re celebrating Week of the Young Child, with a special storytime and hands-on Tidepool Touch Tank tour.
